Ok, advanced editing screen seems permanent during log-in session when you hit "reply" but not for the quick reply response. Let's see...

Ok, got it.
In the Hybrid thread display mode...
when using "post reply" the post is automatically put into a lower hiearchy under the most recent post.
a
b
c
New post
when using "quick reply" the post is put into the hiearchy layer immediately under what a poster is replying too.

New Post
Except the text formatting doesn't allow me to show it.

I'm not sure I follow. When I did a quick reply to your post that was at the top of this page
I'll try, right now I'm confused about some stuff.
My quick reply post came at the bottom of the newest post, not under your above post......
That is how I thought it might do (under the post you quick reply to) but mine didn't.

Well, ok then, I've accidently logged out, kicked myself off the net, lost my reply, couldn't figure out how to edit one...but it's still running...so that's a good sign.

Hey PasoM, Let's try it under a new test.
I'll post a new topic. Put yourself under the hybrid thread display mode and then check it out.
