Any of you GA folks up for some mountain riding?

My entire barn is headed up to Ft. Mountain on July 4th for a long weekend in the -hopefully- cool mountains. Anyone up for joining us for a ride?

Where is Fort Mountain? What type of facilities? Are you camping or what??

Fort Mountain is in Chatsworth. About 30miles east of Cartersville off 75.
They have full hookups for campsites and a stable. I don't recall seeing any picket lines. You Florida folk will need shoes or boots. The trails are rocky. The day we went was in the low 90s but once out of camp and into the woods it was nice riding.

Su and I will try to make it. Remind me again as it gets closer.

I am going with ASB on Wagon Train in the Cohutta Wilderness. I will be close by, but not there. Sorry.

I'll try Boyd but I won't have computer access after the 3rd! We're camping at the stables, not at the park site. We tried to get a cabin but they were already booked. We're taking about 8-10 horses and maybe 15 people. We did already shoe most of them and most of them are in good shape. They aren't used to mountains but several of them get ridden 3x a week or more. It's so pretty up there!

Boyd, we won't be getting there until early afternoon on the 4th. We could probably make a short late afternoon/early evening ride that day. It's an 8 hour trip so the horses will need to rest up a bit and settle in.
