My horses are becoming real parade pros. The next town to us held a tri-centenial celebration this weekend and asked the riding club to provide horses. So I packed up Mico and Mikka and their young riders and off we went. Mikka is really becoming a true parade horse. She walks along at appropriate parade speed and she doesn't let anything bother her. Her head is up and I swear she is waving to the crowds. Mico is getting better and better. He still hasn't figured parade speed. He likes to keep walking, even if the parade stops, so he had to do alot of circles to stay in his spot. My young son again helped carry the banner.
Mico and Mikka getting ready to go. They are standing in front of a cranberry bog.

I loved this pony. The gentleman in the cart made the cart all by himself.

And here comes the parade, Mikka up front and Mico circling.

Nice job....
But, I have to admit, when I saw that you were in a parade today, my first thought was a Gay-Pride parade. They're all in the news! ROFL
Horses look great! You're ready for the BIG TIME.

We have a town called Gay, and every year they have the Gay Fair. Ir is proerly named the Cottin Pickin Fair. It does get some attention when people don't realize it's the town name.
Great photo's, parades are BIG FUN!

David WAS riding pretty good, until Mico threw him off. He was even cantering Mico around. In fact that is what got him into trouble. He was riding Mico, somewhere between a fast corto and canter and he wanted Mico to go faster and faster. So he kept kicking him. Mico had with him, went from zero to 60 in about 3 seconds then spun and tossed David. Now he has decided he likes swimming, baseball, soccer...etc better than riding. He still likes the horses and the riding club, but prefers to stay on the ground.

Oh, that is too bad. Maybe he will get his confidence back someday. My son used to ride with me, but now he is almost 13 and I think he just thinks it is not cool. Maybe I can convince him it is a chick magnet!

Oh, Abbey, the next one is 4th of July in Bridgewater then a long drought till Christmas.
Yes, Laura horses ARE a chick magnet. My vet told my older son that if he really wanted to attract girls he needed to start riding.
