I'm sure of it.

That is one busy woman at the shows. I felt guilty for feeling so tired around her.

Thanks Caliber. I am lucky to have a great group of horses this year.

The gelding's name is Jugueton, not Fuego. I was very proud of how well he did with the riders. Hope you guys got a good interview. And, yes, Diego was great.

I almost forgot about that story. :D

We had a great idea to interview a total brand new person to the breed, and give them a test ride.
I sent Moniece and Marleen out looking for someone looking around w/stars in their eyes.
They came back w/a whole family! :D

These folks had seen Pasos on a cable channel....then heard about the show on the local Fox News, and decided to check it out.

They currently own one horse, a TB cross. The wife did some hunt seat and dressage, while the husband had less experience, but was looking into western events.

Cindy generously offered us the use of her Champion Pleasure Gelding Jugueton for our test ride.

The newbies were ever so excited as we waited for the break in the show. They couldn't believe their dumb luck to be standing around at just the right time.

Diego brought the horse around and instructed each one on the basics, then walked (and sometimes jogged) around the arena giving directions. They each got to go over the board a few times, and boy were they wearing Paso smiles. They couldn't believe the power of such a perceivebly small horse. I could tell they were both a bit nervous and tense on the ride, but that could be b/c they knew we were taping the whole thing for TV.

After the test ride, we went up stairs to do the on camera interview. They both had very positive things to say, but I feel they got a little camera shy. I wish we could have done the interview right when they stepped off the horse, but we ended up having to wait for the tractor to finish in the arena due to the background noise. So they had a little more time to worry about the lights and camera.

But I do believe this did a great job of demonstrating that the cable shows are getting the breed more well known, and that local advertising on TV is money well spent for the region, and that these newbies were welcomed in w/a test ride AND they got to pick Diego Bravo's brain for the rest of the day. 8-)

I got to watch the test ride and good job for all who put that together, great promo idea. It would be great to tape a segment like that with a local TV personality for the evening news.
