Upload your photo to www.photobucket.com. You will see an option to resize. Choose avitar size. If your lucky it will work, if not, someone will feel sorry for you and fix it ;-)

you tried to use the IMG code on photobucket....when what your really need is ONLY the URL.
So after you upload the avatar size photo, move your curser over the photo, and right click so you can copy the Properties URL, then go to your profile and paste the URL into the Off site avatar spot. ;-) The IMG code messes it up.
