Well, it started out great, drove out, went to my meeting, met up with Terri, Erin and Kim and went for a nice (but kind of short due to weather) ride on the bogs (Pics to come later)........

I was supposed to go back out this morning, since my meeting was finished yesterday afternoon, a day early. I left my brothers, and got about 3 miles from his house, if that.....when suddenly the truck started making a wierd nise from the back end......

Long story short, I had to have it towed, got off the phone a little while ago with the dealership......blown transfer case! This truck is 4 eyars old, and only has 32000 miles on it! Geesh! So, a $2000- bill for that, and it also needs front and rear brakes/rotors (which I knew but was putting off)....total bill will be just over 3k......and HOPEFULLY I will be able to get back out here in 1-2 weeks to get the truck!

UGH!!!!! So much for my nice, relaxing trip out here! My brother is takin gme out to the Springfield area tomorrow to meet up with Michael so I can get home.......so much for the weekend too!

Now off to cry and eat my stupidly expensive and fattening cheese I bought!

Aww, Lisa, I'm so sorry! That's just not a cool way to end a trip! And don't cry! 'Cause then I'll cry, and it'll just be messy! ^.~

Kim, your hair is gorgeous and I wish mine looked like that. -pout-

Erin, I'm going to snipe Pillo because he's just got the cutest markings and face. If his brother was just a little bit older, I'd seriously consider getting him from Brenda! What saddle do you have him in?

Terri, YAY YOU'RE WEARING A HELMET! :D :D :D!!!

The storms last night were cool (if you weren't stuck out in them on a horse, anyway). We had lightning hit right behind our house! Scared the crap out of me, but was very cool to watch!

Amanda :D

ErinC

ya know that has to be one of the first times I was out without a helmet, huh girls?
I was just way to hot.
I could NOT do it.
plus my head hurt so putting one on would have felt like a vice grip!

ya P is kind of cute isn't he

KIm she Likes your hair

Seriously - is that not the FUNNIEST thing you have ever read??!! :lmao

Ok Amanda, here's the thing...
My hair is a big joke amongst us "paso-chicks". It is a barometer for humidity. The more humid it is - the bigger and curlier it gets. By the end of yesterdays' ride I was pretty much sportin' a 'fro. Terri seems to get the most pleasure out of my Transformer hairdo!

It's normally straight...

xpasocortox
06-29-2007, 07:59 PM
LOL. I, apparently, I have weird taste.

It looked fine in those pics, but I think I'd get a kick out of seeing you in a 'fro...

Leave it to me to be the oddball

Amanda :D

Kim, when I saw those pics, the first thing I thought was it must have been humid that day!! :lmao

No, I really like your hair Kim! I like the curly look. What cracks me up is how much you don't like it!

Kim, when I saw those pics, the first thing I thought was it must have been humid that day!! :lmao

Yeah - that's right. Laura was exposed to my 'fro at the NYC parade. No biggie though... there was only like what, 2.8 million people there that day? Oh yeah - and I was on TV too. Wonderful.

Kim, your hair looks awesome. I like it a lot. Keep it curly!

Centauress
06-29-2007, 09:07 PM
Thanks Sharon! Oh - and Laura, it's ok....I still love you. :hug

Unfortunately, I can't keep it curly any more than I can keep it straight when it's humid. Once the humidity is gone - so are the curls....such are the trials and tribulations of my hairdo. :-?

xpasocortox
06-29-2007, 09:31 PM
LOL!!!

My hair's boring. It just stays wavy. I don't get cool changes like you do, Kim ^.~

Amanda :D

ETA: I keep forgetting to ask...are those your poofballs in your avatar, Kim?

Centauress

Those are my "kids" Pippin and Pia. Pippin - the male is my "big dog" at 3 and a half pounds. Pia weighs less than three! I LOVE THEM! They're pretty freakin' adorable!

OH Lisa, soooooo sorry 'bout the truck. If you only have 32K miles on it, won't some of it be covered under some sort of warranty. I know my truck has a 32 or 36K (I forget which) warranty on it.

Enjoyed last nights ride very much, despite the fact the lightening scared the ****** outta me. Yep, I was wearing a helmet, that is because I am old and have had to many kids and cannot afford any more brain seepage.

Missed you this morning Lisa. It was cool and dry. Unfortunately the deer flys were still out. Here is Kim today, notice she was not picking her nose in this picture (nice improvement there Kim)

Although on the other hand, her back it to us, so it is hard to tell for sure
These are two of my barn rats, Chrissy on Incendio and Tina on her 1/2 Paso, Mikka

I am always up for a future get together and nice ride. But Lisa, do ya think you can leave the rain home this time?

lisa l aka marci
06-29-2007, 11:40 PM
Well Terri - the truck is a 2003, with 32k on it - BUT 1 year out of warranty! The truk only had a 3 year/36k mile for the powertrain. I probably should contact GM - maybe I will do that tonight.

I will try to leave the rain home next time - If I hadn't been os upset about the truck, I should have taken my brothers car and met you gals anyway!!!!! Oh well, I am now going to a birthday party tomorrow morning, and heading for Springfield about 2pm to meet Michael. So much for getting ANYTHING done at home this weekend!!!!!

JEALOUS of those of you RIDING. Grr. I wish I had at least a lesson barn to harass once a week, but only one place does western lessons around here (in Lincoln) and I'm not a fan of the instructor. I might have to suck it up and take english lessons again. Actually, maybe I should...riding in a saddle without a deep seat might help my balance...hmm.

Anyway. Barn rats, Terri? One or both of them your daughters? The gray is cute - I like his face.

Nice backside shot of Kim and Centauro. Haha.

Amanda :D

Terri

Chrissy is my 15 yr old daughter, she is on the bay, Incendio. Her friend Tina is on Mikka, the grey. Tina owns Mikka and boards her with me. Mikka is 1/2 paso and 1/2 grade paint and she gaits ('bout 1/2 the time). I also have 2 - 12 yr old girls who board their horses with me, one is a TWH and the other is a qrt horse. Then there are all the "friends of kid boarders" and neighborhood kids who like horses...etc. Lots of barn rats.

06-30-2007, 12:22 AM
Haha. Being a barn rat is fun. My friend Megan and I, my god...we almost never left the barn. I would get there at about 9:30 in the morning and not leave until five (after five if I was having a bad day and needed to be all clingy and pathetic toward my riding instructor. I'm so surprised the lady hasn't murdered me yet for being a neurotic disaster XD). She and I would do stalls together, clean paddocks together, and then we'd ride (depending, or help with lessons), and then hang out in the horse trailer or in the barn or inside with Kim (our instructor) and her five year old, Cole, and then we'd feed the mob (Kim has nine horses) and bring everyone in. Then we'd still have about an hour left so the four of us would hang around by the pond until we had to leave.

Life was gooood then.

Do you get a lot of help with so many kids around?

Amanda :D

How much was it? From the picture of you on Pillo, it looked like an Imus 4-Beat saddle, but I think I was basing my observation mostly off of the pad. That pad looks like one of the ridiculously expensive ones she sells...

My aunt Amy is a shoe-fiend. She seriously has about two hundred pairs of shoes. I don't get it. To be honest, I just don't get shopping for things you don't immediately need...unless it's horse stuff! Haha. Honestly, I'm all ready to go out and buy a halter, lead line, brushes, ect. for the horse I don't have yet. But I can't - if I don't get a mare and everything I own for a horse is hot pink, I'm not sure even I could stomach dressing up a gelding (or for some odd reason, a stallion) in hot pink...HAHA!

I pick the stupidest things out of posts to expand on :D Oh well, at least I'm cute.

Amanda :D

like the saddle/love the hair but Kim keep your hand away from that face of yours.Oh and if you ever come to Florida to ride be sure to do a parade here too just letit be known so I can go watch the parade on BIG screen TV so I can see the BIG hair day.I also like it(but then it does distract for your beautiful horse, but as a team you complement each other great and maiden and stud are qutie the pair.
Erin when you all come to Florida please make a trip this way and bring your friends with you. we should have six riding horses here.If going to Nationals we are but 2&1/2-3 hours south 15 min/miles near I-10 and I-75. We love trail riding best.
