This is Saturday's ride. (I'll do Sunday's ride in a seperate video and post)

For those on dial up, here are some pictures.

It got down to the high 30's at night and about 85 in camp. On top of the mountain (last pictures) it was in the high 60's.

This is on the trail. There was a hard freeze here two weeks before and the aspen trees had lost most of their leaves. It's too bad, because it would be a lot prettier - and shadier - if the trees were full.

This is Deb. She rode her first Paso Fino at BCH ride in March. She got hooked and watched ALL of our DVDs in our booth at the Expo. Then she went horse shopping. And here she is on her FIRST Paso Fino!

Typical scenery, mountain meadows surrounded by trees, and LOTS of blue sky.

And at the top. It's hard to appreciate how high you are, all you see are the tops of other mountains.

I'd love to ride in the places you ride in, Carol. I am in the mountains here, but the trees block the views.

Not only does Carol go on these wonderful rides, she then teases us by posting wonderful pictures. She's a bad egg. ;-)

Beautiful!!

So, with as high as you are do you go up real steep areas? Or is it all gentle and safe passage. I don't like straight up/down/cliff type trails......not that I'm a wimp.....just like life :D

Jodi, this ride had some steep, but no rocky cliff type riding. It was a very safe trail - mostly. The water crossings can have some sharp rocks in them and you cringe when you go through some of them. And some places are rocky, but mostly it was a nice, wide dirt trail. It was the site of a 50/25 NATRC ride a week ago (over 100 horses), so the trail was well churned, but we spent a lot of time taking ribbons off the trees.

The Sunday ride had one section of rock scramble/steep about 30 feet (no pictures, I was hanging on!!!). And the lead horse decided to stop in the middle, which was REAL BAD. But, we made it. Other then that it was a nice ride. Lots of deadfall and 'cavaletti' practice on it.
