Hope you guys aren't sick of pics by now! 8-)

Our Maine Gait Paso Fino Club participated in a 4th of July Parade and Game show. The parade was huge. There must have been a total of 25 horses. We positioned our pasos to be last in the horse lineup. We got lots of comments...My favorite one was "look at the pretty little trot!" Well, at least they noticed it was different!

The game show was tons of fun! We played the bareback dollar game, the carrot game, the cracker game, and the bat game. One of our pasos got 2nd on bareback dollar and 5th on the carrot game. We had some stiff competition with barrel/gaming QH's.

Ah, thank you! :hug

I was thinking....PJ would have cleaned up at the game show! His gallop could have matched those barrel horses!

Looks like a GREAT parade! Can't believe how green it is there (very dry and burnt here).

It's pretty easy to pick out the warmblood in that picture! ROFL

Would you please explain how these classes are run? I'm always looking for more games for our open horse show.

Hi Paula, These games were so much fun, and fun for the crowd to watch as well.

The Bat Race: Race to the end of the ring, get off your horse, hand the reins to the ring assistant. Stand the baseball bat on one end, bend over and put your forehead on the other end. Make 3 full cirlces (an assistant will help you count), get back on your horse and race out.

The Carrot Game: Race in on your horse to the end of the ring, get off, get a carrot, and get your horse to follow you out without leading or touching them, just using the carrot!!

The Cracker Game: Race in on your horse to the end of the ring, you will be handed a cracker with peanut butter on it, you must eat the cracker until you can blow the whitstle handed to you (everyone gets their own whistle), then race back.

Youth was walk trot, Junior and Senior was as fast as you wanted to go.

The bat game was a riot because most people got really dizzy and fell down, or ran off in the wrong direction to get their horse. Some had a real hard time getting back on their horse. The carrot game was cute because some horses would flat out run after the carrot, and others were more interested in eating the grass or visiting the people around the fence.

Well then, it looks like you should be all set for the Blueberry Festival Parade. Its a patriotic theme parade as well...you can wear the same outfits :D (hint)
BTW..Amigo and I had to play 'soccer' all alone yesterday. (another hint)

Hi Cheryl, We definately want to come play horse soccer and go on a trail ride, it's just a matter of finding a date we can do it. I will see if the others want to do the parade!
