I'm just curious in how many of you feel that because of the house cleaning that has been done at PFHA that real change can now take place and the organization grow to include all the versatility and athletic ability that the paso fino can provide.

How many are willing to take the time to read their regional by laws and rules and make the changes necessary to take back the association. There are several ways of getting together to do this and this BB would make the perfect support center...

Please take the time to answer the poll and then add your personal opinion or comments on ways YOU would be willing to donate time to work for the betterment of the breed...

Time to separate the talkers from the doers.....

There are some of us who already do most or all of those. You forgot head or serve on a Committee, both at the national and regional levels. These are the poeple who really DO work for you...and their all volunteers.

My personal opinion... I'm hopefull that the current changes are the beginning of improvements for the entire breed, but other then becoming a member again, I'm not willing to put forth much effort or even thought.

As it stands , the PFHA as an organization, still has nothing of interest to offer me and my paso. I've found other venues to participate with my Paso that I'm quite happy with.

If I become aware of any efforts or desire to open up the PFHA shows to Pasos other then the fino horses, I might be willing to help out and participate.

Call me selfish, but I'm not a professional in this breed. I am an owner. And I'm simply not willing use my time, effort and money to fix something I didn't break. I'd rather spend that time enjoying my paso.

I sincerely do hope for the best, but at this point I'm not going to be jumping on the bandwagon. Just my opinion.

I am more than willing to listen to any reasoned opinon, I just have a distaste for opinion presented as fact.
I will say that many shows are not dominated by fino, this past weekend's Evergalades show had about a pleasure A/O geldings class of 11 horses but many Fino classes were combined because of limited (1 or 2) entries. And no "Country Fino" horses in Country Pleasure, real pleasure horses ridden by real owners. Well, mostly real owners anyway
I am not saying anyone who has found an alternative to PFHA shows is wrong, either, just that there are real pleasure horses being shown. All breed local are cool and a great way to promote the breed locally. We just need a better way to promote the breed nationally. How about a "Gaited Horse Challenge", TWH's, Rockies, Peruvians, Crillolio's, and Mangalarga's etc and us on RFD, something like Extreme Cowboy Race?
Time to buy some lottery tickets...

I've never left PFHA.... nor the paso horses... I made it a personal project to keep track of the goings on at the PFHA office and a lot of the background that went on... I kept track of the rules, how things were run and who was running it.... who hired who and for what reasons.... especially those hired with dubios backgrounds...

I was the one who hounded CJ about his office full of QH photos and trophies until he had to get rid of them.... and complained enough about the arab statue in the office window until they finally had the legs cut off and made it into a gaited arab (still not a paso)

So even tho I cannot be a member I have had an influence with the breed... and that was by breeding the best that I could afford to breed... and convincing the people to try pasos.....
