There is a vendor here at work who makes/sell wooden pens and other pens.....well, he and I got talking about the new 'fabric' pens he has, and the process to make them.
He custom makes some of these pens (Has 'stock' pens already made too of different exotic woods), and with the acrylic ones, he can take any type of material practically, and work it into the pen design.....the ones I looked at were made using fabric - they are pretty neat!
I'm thinking of getting him some tail hair that I have saved from Rosie and having him make it into a pen! He would wrap the hair around the brass casing, glue it down then coat it with acrylic. He then turns the acrylic to smooth/round it and assembles the rest of the pen.
Wouldn't this make a GREAT gift? Unfortunately this gentleman does not do internet, but will do business over the phone.
I think I'm going to hint to Michael for a Christmas present!!!!!
