I understand muscle and tone and since I know nothing of these halter type QH I wanted to ask if they do other things besides halter? Can they rein? Team Pen? etc. I would think their muscle mass would interfere or am I wrong? Kind of like Aaaaahnold the Govenator doing Ballet.

I hope his feet are large enough and healthy enough to handle all that extra weight.

WOW! I'd really like to see a side shot of him moving out - it doesn't look like he can get much extension! All those muscles in the way.......
I was looking at the sales pages - not a lot of money for many of those 'purty colored' horses!

That's a shame...that horse, besides being muscled, is way too fat! That's almost as much animal cruelty as starving a horse...and take it from someone who used to keep ALL of her horses fat!

Good greif! I would like to see the persons that made that horse and that dog so dang muscular....they must be pretty buff themselves to put that much work into making an animal look that muscular. I like a nicely muscled person, or animal, but am not real fond of the "weightlifter" look in either. JMHO

I think I once dated a guy who looked like that....lol All muscle...no brain. He was helpful, though, when I had to move furniture.

Huh...wonder whaqt happened to my post...
Anyway, to answer the question, no those horses don't usually move well.
When I used to be involved in Paints, we saw horses similar to this come through the Dixie National sales all the time. They went for pennies on the dollar. Halter horses get to a certain age, and they aren't useful in the ring anymore. They usually aren't even broke to ride. If they are, it is kind of like riding a Mack truck with no shock absorbers...rough!

OMG, that is beefy, buttery, bulky what ever. I dont care for that much at all...

Simply put, these type of people care way more about a shiny ribbon then they do their animals.

That is not attractive at all, just does not look normal.

Check out these cows: same deal - grotesquely muscled, but for a different purpose....

the TN Meat goat or fainting goat also known as myatonic is also a double muscled animal. At least it serves a purpose in meat production animals and is genetically identified..
the AQHA & Paint halter horses are a sad version of a great animal.

I like a good looking halter type horse, he's not it.
What I'm really surprised to see is that he's HyPP N/N. Usually with that type of muscling they are not N/N

Me likes BEEFY horses. Although that horse is not very well put together. QHs were and always will be my first love  I love good natural muscle on a QH, not make pretend beef. And, they can ride just fine if they have good conformation - just like any other horse. This horse just doesn't have good conformation....

I wonder if the "double muscled" meat animals have their own version of the Impressive gene?

Holy Cow!! But that is for more meat so that is understandable.
The dog was a genetic freak and female.. I hope they had her spayed.
So a halter horse is to make money and nothing really to do with them afterwards. That makes me sad.

Oh, I like a well-muscled QH as much as the next horseperson, but that poor thing looked like he'd been on steroids.
I agree with the others, there are times we (humans) go too far. This is too far.

I thought something seemed awfully familiar about that name, I've seen em at the horse fair every year. And the names get familar when i help make up all the exibitor info packets. The picture in the arena is at Millar in Murfreesboro.
