Was Nazi trimming, but I got tired of that title..

I saw him this evening, he's in easyboot epics now, and his owner had made frog pads for him to go in the boots while we waited for his easyboot pads to come in. WOW. He was moving so well I was in tears. We went ahead and put his new pads in the boots and kept the frog pads on him and boy what a happy horse! When we let him out the gate, he modestly blew past - GAITING, and using his rear end!!!!!! He's almost landing heel first with the boots et al, but with his leg forward - tender toes. The new pads should help that and when his sole thickness is back to normal, he should be looking good. I am EXCITED!!! The other cool thing is that he has most of his heel wall grown back in just to sole level, but PRESENT! Now for the bars to finish - they are about 40-50% recovered, jsut a little ways to go. Then we can worry about decontracting him. I can't wait!

We are going to aim for earlier visits so I can get some pics of this beautiful boy.

Must be very satisfying to be able to help make such a profound difference...

Just read the Practical Horseman barefoot article by Pete Ramey... very interesting. He's in my general neck of the woods... maybe I'll get to meet him or Cindy one of these days.

Pratical Horseman huh? Methinks this stuff is catching on! Pete has had a couple of his articles in The Natural Horse mag, they are taken right off his website where he has scads of cool info in several articles.

You really should go meet them, and catch a clinic while you are at it.

Yes it is satisfying, but greater than that is a sense of pure awe at the wisdom of the Grand Organising Designer. From emails that aprreciate the fact that a horse's hooves are no longer chipping up to reports that a super navicular case is trotting and canterring about like a two year old, or a foundered pony that is all of a sudden reaching and extending for his little rider.. after first trims.. all this IMM points to how wonderful a creation the Horse is, and the profundity of the healing power of nature. I'm just a cog in the wheel but DANG WHAT A COOL WHEEL!!!!!!!
