They're predicting 90% chance of rain tomorrow...and 70% on Friday...so I guess it's gonna rain here. It's cooled off noticably this evening ...was actually pleasant feeding tonight. :-?

Carol, you take care today. I don't think this has alot of wind with it, but alot of rain, maybe a couple of inches for you guys. On the weather channel, they reported this morning that even though TX has had its share of rain, over and above the normal, that the rain seems to be soaking into the ground better than they thought. Thats a good deal, but the also said there were possibilities of flash flooding....So hang in there you TX people and keep you eyes on this system.... Dean could follow in a week or so!

So far so good...it's beautiful out there right now. Light breeze, with gently falling rain. A pleasure to feed this morning.
We actually had dried up pretty good so even with all the rain earlier this year the grass was browning out. This is much needed rain. You see, we're on sandy loam in most of this country so it doesn't hold the water real well.
I don't think this is supposed to get so bad. They have some wind down on the Coast but just up to 40 mph...a strong breeze.
I've notified Ellen Perez, president of Southwestern, that we're available to take evacuees so we'll see if we get company. ;-)
Sounds like most people are choosing to stay put though.

Well, the news tonight shows it hitting the Yucatan at Cat 5. I think it's time to send prayers now, and get ready send a lot more to our neighbors to the South. This is going to wipe out thousands of people's homes.

That is Dean...Cat. 5 Hurricane. Erin fizzled out over land...right now the last tail ends of it are bringing flooding to MN and WI.
We're not expecting too much from Dean...should hit farther south near Brownsville if it comes in to TX at all.
Now if you think that we are in danger when you hear that the hurricane is touching land in Texas...please consider how HUGE Texas is. If it's coming across at Brownsville...it is still 500 MILES south of me. ;-)
