Hubby has a conference in San Francisco, California in October. Company pays for his airfare, we pay for mine. We'll be taking days ahead and behind the actual conference dates to be able to visit both our mothers (250mi apart) so we'll rent a car and see one before the conference and one after the conference.
Also while we are there, we will be borrowing tools from my HS/college friend's husband's workshop (20mi away) so my Hubby can fix some things around my mothers home. Mostly her upstairs HVAC that needs the capacitor replaced.

Thanks to everyone for the names of the ticket price places!
Expedia...*hits myself in the forhead!*...dot cooooom!

If your travel dates are at all flexible - check out the discount airfare sites then check out the individual airlines....that is how Michael and I found $59- one way tickets to Florida in November....a day change in travel saved us $40- EACH (3 tickets!)....we got them cheaper right from the airline.

Al Gore is the keynote speaker.
Uuuuummmmm. No.
This will be for Power Plant operators; management and training techniques, plus fun stuff every evening. Hubby said part of the entertainment will be a race-driving 'school' for everyone (not the wives, dammit) I would guess at Sears Point.
My mother lives about 70mi East of San Fran. Hubby's mom lives in NoCal about 250mi North of San Fran, or my mother's town.

What will your conference be for? We'll be there for 9th, 10th and 11th. I already have a friend lined up to stay in our house to care for the critters. You and Hubby going, or just you?

I've gotten great deals thru Hotline for rental cars. You can get airline tickets thru them too.

Also, when I am looking at airline tickets thru any of the above websites, I then check the prices thru the actual airline website (like Delta) and sometimes they can be cheaper thru the airline's site.
