Hi Terri, That is cool. Can you post Rio's bloodline's? Maybe they have other similarities. Yes, Paul has decided he wants to buy Bucky. He is a 15.2 H Buckskin gelding, about 15 yrs old. He's ridden him several times. He is buying him from Jen, but just not sure when yet, have to come up with the $$, but hopefully within the month!
Here are some pics of Paul on him, and Jen in one of our parades. I have not ridden him yet. Paul says he really likes to move out!

Rio's real name is Precision del Solitario, his sire is Placido Sin Par and Dam Splendoria de Encantro. Rio is the horse I've always dreamed of owning. I hope Bucky turns out the same for your hubby. 15.2 hands WOW.
This horse I am asking about - Picaron, apparently spent several years in FLA and I was wondering if any of you southerners ran into him dow there.

Tell me more about the El Pastor lines! I know nothing about them.
I took a look at your website and that Prueba is beautiful. And I noticed she has alot of El Pastor in her too.

From what I understand, Pastor stamped a sweet temperment on his offspring. Rio certainly reflects that. They are often naturally gaited and while many do well in the show ring, they are great trail horses. The best place for info on El Pastor and his offspring is Greener Pastures Ranch. Henrietta and Robin Radliff have been breeding horses (particularly Pasos) for a long time and are a wealth of info. I LOVE my El Pastor Grandson!!! http://www.sinparpasofino.com/

I just checked him out at the GPR website. I can't believe El Pastor lived to be 37 yrs old! And there is a breyer horse of him too. I love learning new things about pasos! I love the history! I hope somebody is recording it in one place.

His sire is Hechizero de Carmin out of Carmin and Guala Dos ,and his dam is Panela Sin Par out of El Pastor and Martina de Prodeca . I got him when he was just nine months old , he is now nine years old . He was my first Paso Fino , I had never even ridden one before I bought him.
He loves to play in the sprinkler and will eat and drink anything I do . He has his stubern streek but he gets that from Carmin I learned . He has tought me a lot .

Hey pasoglide check my Calco's bloodlines they share that line you mentioned 8-)
LauraS the reason I like the El Pastor line is because it is complete to me
for example(and this is just my opinion when I want a horse or the breed for a horse
I want gait period not we'll have to wait till under saddle and collect but baby gaiting in the field or on the leadline
I want range of speed like with prueba she has a speed that is inbetween corto and largo that she can do all day
excellent temperment willing to do things Calabaza is a little hotter than normal but if you ask she does, first time in a trail she leaped in,back right back out but still tryed again no fighting
brio/brillance a horse that stands out even if by shear sweetness Prueba loves kids and will do anything for them to touch her,she shine and has won several hearts including mine
Calco (our main man) is kind and forgives me dragging him every where to meet new people even around mares,I stall him next to mares and also turn in out in an adjasent pasture with no trouble and hes young only just 4yr
wonderful comfirmation for movment, well built yet compact but not restricted, they are a excellent a/o bloodline for those that want to show and trail ride they do double duty well
smart they tend to be a thinking horse
and last but not less beauitful,
Prueba at nat'l

I love Calco! I love Plebeyo lines too. And that Prueba is a beauty. Thanks for all the pics!
Pasoglide your paso sounds lovely too. Do you have any bigger pictures of him? I assume that's your boy in your avater.
Well the horse my husband plans on buying is El Pastor on the top and I don't really know any of the horses on the bottom. He is not a real friendly, in your pocket type of horse. But my husband seems to have really bonded with him already. I'm not sure what his background is either and he is 15 yrs old. My friend that owns him now has only had him for about a year and a half. He really moves out and is long strided. Even at the walk he blows Mirage and I away. But the Corto and Largo she can keep up! He has brio, and he is kind and seems to take care of my husband who is a beginner rider, and he is easy to work around. But you have to be able to catch him first, ha ha. :D
Here is a head shot. He has the most beautiful head I have ever seen. And I have heard that is a trait from El Pastor...He is in the middle.

This is the only side view I have of Bucky, sorry his nose is cut off. This is at a game show we were at.

Boy does that sound like Rio!!!! Rio is also a "not in your pocket" horse, he is to timid to push himself on you. He generally stands back a foot or two with his ears up and eyes hopeful, like you might have a treat or kind word for him.
And pasoglide, you boy sounds wonderful too. Larger pictures would be appreciated.
Here is Rio
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/micomyhorse/827chrissy7.jpg
And I don't know about all of Pastor's line, but here is an "elegance" to Rio's movements. He is kinda "dainty" like he is afraid of stepping on something "icky" whereas my other horses' footfalls are more purposeful and powerful. Rio gets the job done, he usually out front (when Incendio isn't blowing past him) and walking/cortoing quickly and can leave most horses in the dust (maybe not PJ or Incendio). Can you tell he is my favorite subject? Hey, did I hijack my own thread again?
And Nicole, you KNOW I love your horses!!!!!!

Laura you mean tons of Fat !!! He doesn't get ridden much so he has a big hay belly. I also have a three year with El Pastor as his grandsire . Plus he has Capuchino and El Classico de Plebeyo . I wish he was as easy to brake as Refran was.
