Lightningbug has been at the trainers now for a few weeks. I had done all that I felt comfortable with doing on my own, so off to Rick Shaffer's. She is doing really well and can she gait  I got to ride her on Monday, and it was the first time she had gaited with me on her for an extended time. She is so much fun to ride. She is just 4 years old, so we will have lots of time to work with her this year and get her to be a good trail horse. Our son, 20, also got to ride her and he got her into her gait. Now he has only ridden Ladybug, her mom, just last week to experience a Paso gait. He does not ride much, but Bug is "his" little horse. So he is going to be the one to ride her as she gets better. Talk about a Paso smile. I have a few pics of Lightningbug after the ride, it was storming outside, so had to ride in the indoor and it was so dark at 4pm, sue to the rain, that pics would not have turned out. So her she is in the wash bay. She is still a little damp, so she actually is a little lighter in color. Evil flash eye too.

Thanks. We are going back over this weekend and it is to be alot nicer, so hope to get a few pics outside of her. She really does well with the hose and water, but Rick was flapping his hat at her to try and get her ears up and forward  plus the camera flash did not help to make her look goofy. Young ones are alot of work, but in this case, all the time was worth it.

I've loved that filly since she was born (really not fair that SHE stayed RED while Rosie's points turned black! :( ;-) ). She's looking great!

I'm with Lori, can't wait for the under saddle pictures, and I agree, Rick does a great job training.
