I just saw a patient in the office. His last name rang a bell. He mentioned his horse. I asked if he ever camped at Otter Creek with TWH in 1997. He said yes and remembered me and my friend (we were right next to them doubled up in a pup tent!). He has pics and will bring them in next time! At that time I did not live in this area, but always remembered their last name and it was unusual. It was my first experience camping with my horse. My friend went back and camped with them many times. I think at that time I had a job that kept me way to busy.....

By the way, this si my plug. If anyone smokes, please quit. him and his wife both smoked. Now at age 70 they seem agile, but are on nebulized therapy and oxygen continuously. They no longer enjoy the camping and are down to one horse. PLEASE QUIT!

Jodi, I look forward to seeing the pictures! Cool!

And good plug about smoking. I quit in 1993, after 20 years of smoking. I only wish I quit sooner or never started....I am sure my adult-onset asthma is a direct result of the damage I did to myself.

Congradulation on quiting the smokes CarolU. I wish I could convince my husband and father to quit. The sad thing is about their smoking is, my father in law died of infazima about 7 years ago and my grandfather is on ashma meds soon to be on oxagen. And neather my husband nor my dad see it happening to them. I never picked up the habbit after living years with my father and grandfathers smoking. That and drinking are the bad habits I lived with in my family. I never found the interest to start eather one and hope that my girls don't eather. I guess you can say that I am living proof that being raised around smoking and drinking, does not mean that it is hareditary, it is a choice.

How about training a horse to drive so that the tank could be carried easier and safer?

They have small tanks in shoulder harnesses. that would be easy to cary. Another good reason to buy a paso the smooth ride wouldn't mess with keeping the air hose wher it belongs.

There is a battery operated oxygen concentrator that is much lighter and smaller than a tank that probably could be carried on horseback. Considering how little energy it takes to ride a good paso fino I don't see why it couldn't be done.

there is a lady from grand junction, CO who is a cancer surivor. she is 39 years old, and developed liver cancer when she was 20. she uses a special backpack for her oxygen tank, and does cowboy mounted shooting. she had ridden as a teenager, but basically had to learn to ride all over again. her run times in the shooting events have gone from 60 seconds down to an average of 32. she is out there running and gunning on horseback. so yes, it can be done!
