Pasos shine at 4H show

I took my daughter, Chrissy and the little girl who is 1/2 leasing Mico and Incendio and Mico to a 4h show today. This was Incendio's 1st real trip to a showring. I am proud to say Chrissy and Incendio earned reserve champion in the Senior 4H division. She did this by taking a blue in fitting and showmanship, a red in 4H pleasure and a red in 4h Horsemanship. Incendio also earned a 3rd place in trail and a 3rd in egg and spoon. Chrissy also got a red ribbon on Mico in Pony pleasure. Ashley and Mico took 3rds in trail and egg and spoon, plus a 5th in w/t pleasure and equitation. The classes were full and we had lots of fun. My biggest challange was keeping 2 bay pasos and their numbers straight.

Chrissy and Mico in the trail class, were he (quite by accident) correctly performed a flying lead change in the middle of the figure 8. to bad he refuse to back up through the poles, ending with only a 5th.

and of course there is the costume class where my kids and Incendio took the blue as Hansel and Gretal and the Gingerbread house. Incendio was the witch.

How sweet! Looks like you guys had a GREAT day! Who in the world came up with the custome idea....very clever and lots of work on the gingerbread house! LOL

Chrissy came up with the idea. They spent all week gluing and painting cardboard.

Oh and the horse in the 1st pict by the trailer is Mico, not Incendio...see, I was having a hard time keeping my bay pasos straight.

I should also mention that the best part about the gingerbread house it that the kid inside couldn't see and kept wandering around. The judge was laughing so hard I suspect it was the entertainment value that got the blue, that and the candy they bribed the judge with when they entered the ring.

Oh and the horse in the 6th pic is Incendio NOT Mico. I really can't keep these bays staight.

Terri...Chrissy & Ashley had an outstanding day, I'd say! Good for them!! The pics look great...

You girls will definitely have to try barrel racing...such a relaxed atmosphere...and some ppl just walk/trot the barrels. Soooo much fun! I bet Chrissy would LOVE it. They even passed out watermelon to everyone....twice. :shock:

Thanks Abbey, after the girls heard about your barrel racing, THAT is what they want to do next summer.

It didn't help that I put blue saddle pads and black saddles on BOTH horses. :roll:

Well, at least this would explain why they don't allow Paso Finos in Tennesee with the TWHs. They're afraid the Paso Finos would outshine their TWHs .... :lol:
