Boy, you have brought back some old memories, there, Jen. I swear I've had my photo taken on that very spot with the stone ledge. I've been to the Eagle Rock lighthouse. Did you find any fish boils or do they still have them?? Where they dump fish and potatoes, and ears of corn, and carrots, and onions and all into a big cauldron and cook them over an open fire, and then they serve them out with a big ladle into steaming hot bowls...you have to put lots of salt and pepper on it as it's very bland, but oh, so good! The smells are heavenly.
Sigh...I'm getting a little homesick...guess I'll need to go see my mother up there pretty soon... :(

Looks like Zora is really enjoying her vacation! :D

The scenery is beautiful... so serene. I love the log cabin.

Dont show PasoJosieJ....she'll end up being home sick. She's always reminiscing about her family vacations at the beautiful lighthouses..

Jen, it looks like some of your pictures have been edited to increase saturation. Am I right?

Would that be why the water is SOOOO blue, Barbwire?

(LOVE that cabin. Stayed in one similar to that in the rain forest on the west coast. It was heaven on earth.)

Actually I have the most edits to the root picture and the one Rock w/water pics, yes saturation and a bit of contrast.. The blue was natrual on the boat pic!!

I try to do very little edits, I did mess a bit w/the contrasts due to sunlight fading some out...

Glad you all liked the pics! It was a great trip!

I will admit thought I like the northShore of MN a bit better, more to do and see.. But the UP sure has the lighthouses!! I LOVE lighthouses!

:D

had fun cleanin out my truck after, used a heavy waterproof canvas tarp for the back and Zora, thank god I did! Her fur was everywhere..lol

Thanks for the nice comments on Zora, she si a beautiful girl for sure!!

Can somebody explain this "UP" word? I haven't heard of it and don't know what it means. (Wild a$$ guess ... "Upper Peninsula"? Though, I don't know if there IS one there or not.)

You're right Jane. Michigan has two parts divided by water if you look at the map. The UP is really cold and wild and wooded and gorgeous. Snow stays on the ground there much longer and there's lot of snow with lake effect and all that good stuff.
