Grrrrrrr, I need an argument based on REAL data.

Thanks!!!

Of course it's the husband's fault. The others are animals. Hats are of no significance to them. Besides that, animals are never at fault. THEY ARE ANIMALS! If he left his steak on the kitchen floor while he took a shower before dinner would it be the dog's fault when the steak was gone?

Of course it's the husband's fault.

DITTO!!! No question about it....

I keep telling my husband not to leave his wallet on the bed or its going to have "Yorkie bites" all over it!

It's the cat trainer's fault for not teaching the cat to stay off the counter top.

It's the cat's fault....... my husband is uber proud of anything that Monita does.

It's the cat's fault. That cat knew what it was doing all along.

None of the above. It's Newton's fault. If it weren't for gravity, the hat never would have hit the ground when the cat knocked it and therefore the puppy would not have chewed it.

Yep. Newton.

(Come on, CarolU! You KNOW it can't be hubby's fault. It never is.)

I laugh at my hubby all the time. When he's done something wrong, he never includes himself in the action. Example: It's not "I left the pail behind the truck and then I forgot it was there and backed the truck up". It's always, "The pail was left behind the truck and the truck backed over it". Like David wasn't even in the yard. *lol*

I always get the "where did you hide my _____________" . See after it sits where it does NOT belong for 3 months I shove it out of site. If he had put it up, I wouldn't have to hide it to drive him crazy

Admit it, Carol: It's your fault. You bought the puppy (and maybe the cat and the hat). Besides which, the counter is "woman's territory" and, therefore, "woman's responsibility." And even if none of the above were true, it would STILL be your fault, because you know husbands don't put things away, so you obviously could have forseen this incident and taken steps to prevent it, if you really loved that hat and/or that man . . . .

And the winner iiiiiiis ... PASOVICKI! (Why didn't I think of that? Your evidence is empirical, my dear.)

I was going to say, at my house-----it's always my fault!!!! I assure you that my husband would say that it was my fault.

If there was no puppy, it wouldn't matter if the cat knocked it off the counter because there would be no puppy to chew the hat.

If there was no cat, it wouldn't matter if the hat was left on the counter because it couldn't get knocked to the floor for the puppy to reach.

If there was no husband, ...see where I'm going with this?...

Well technically you still have 10 days left before you can laugh at your hubby, until then, you can chuckle at your significant other. ;-) I like to be percise, besides, I would hate to see the party cancelled as "not needed".

Vicki and Kathy...I don't want either of you EVER to talk to my husband.

I agree with PasoVicki and KAB. It would definatley be MY fault  for not putting away the hat. Or not training the cat to get on the counter or not training the dog to chew ;-) It is never the hubby's fault, now don't ya know ???

I don't have to talk to your husband, Carol; he already knows it was your fault. Do you need proof? Take a good, long look at him, sitting there, fuming over his chewed up hat. Is he still grousing at the cat? Still grumbling at the puppy? Slapping himself on the side of the head while repeating "I shouldn't have left my hat on the counter; it's all my fault my favorite hat is ruined!" Nope; odds are that YOU are on the receiving end of the of the fuming looks and the grousing and the grumbling . . . because he knows it was really YOUR fault.

Or maybe we could palm the responsibility off on Jane, because, honestly, shouldn't she have posted a warning about that Newton character . . . .

Definately, without question, Carol is to blame. Exactly what does she think would happen if she allows her husband in the house with the dog and cat without first properly training the husband????? duh......

Mitch..this is PRECISELY why horses are better then husbands. You can train horses. ;-)

Edited to add that puppies seem to be able to train husbands. Right now, he not only puts HIS shoes away, he puts mine up out of chew-range also.

Hubby WANTED to buy a new hat but was afraid that since the old hat was perfectly good that his spouse would thing the purchase of a new hat was frivolous (despite the fact that they own 35 saddles, 33 of which they almost never use) so he DELIBERATELY put the hat on the counter KNOWING that the cat would knock it off and the puppy would chew it up and then he'd HAVE to buy a nice new hat or his poor wittle head would get cold or sunburned!!

But wifey is tooooo smart to be taken in by this plan and tells him - don't worry honey - I'm going to the Goodwill today. I'm sure I'll find something you can wear while I'm there - OHHHH and would you please pick up 150 bags of TC senior, some rice bran, some MSM, - OH and some glucosamine and chondroitin for Silver - his arthritis is bothering him a bit. And the UPS buy will be delivering his new winter blanket while I'm out so could you please try it on him to make sure he likes it!!!

At my house it would be my husbands fault and although he would not be happy about it he would know it was his fault.I am not his mother and won't run around cleaning up after him.He can put his stuff up just like I do mine. Now,because he works and my job is the house I do make sure the laundry is done, hung, and folded ready for him to put up and keep the house and I do things like prepare the coffee maker the night before and have a cup ready for him as soon as he gets up and I do pour him something to drink as soon as he gets home and listen to him about his day and tell him about mine but as far as picking up after him nope,he's on his own there and knows first hand that if he likes or needs something he better put it up.Your friend,Moniece

Thank you all for your responses.

I think I've learned my lesson. Next time I'll just bury the evidence in the garbage. Since hats are never put back where they go and he never remembers where he left them, so if it 'disappears' I can just play dumb. :D

LOL...no,things are not always my husbands fault.I can admitt when I am at fault and apologise but in this case it would be.He is the reason some of the cats are here and he doesn't train them either. And in her case it's her husband's cat and he did not train it.Puppies chew.Everyone knows that when they get a pup and agree that it can live in the house it is probable that before the pup learns what it can chew and not chew it will have chewed something not aloud. Her husband brought in the cat, didn't train it,and put his hat on the counter knowing that if his untrained cat knocked it off the teething pup he agreed to have in the house would probably get it and chew it.Knowing that he still put his hat there and left it...he took a gamble and he lost. His actions are not her fault.Nor is it the cat's fault because he did not train his cat not to be on the counter.Nor is it the pup's fault, the pup is teething and still learning what he can and can not chew.Your friend,Moniece

Dadgummit (sp?)! I keep telling you people, it's NEWTON's fault. If he wouldn't have discovered gravity, it would all be good!

Cindy
08-31-2007, 07:56 PM
But unfortnately we would all be floating around in space right now. :D Do you think depth perception changes with zero gravity?

Come on baby light the fiiaaahhh!!! :bad bannana :bad bannana :bad bannana

Cindy I think I'll submit that one to NASA to test on their next flight and considering the recent press they could probably also find out if zero gravity and alcohol affect depth perception!!

CarolU
09-01-2007, 11:57 AM
Ha ha....while I doubt gravity affects depth perception, II don't think we need NASA to know that alcohol does. LOL

Cindy

Well, we could always ask the drunk astronauts if their depth perception changed while they were drunk in zero gravity. :D

I think its everybodys fault :D At one time or another.. everybody there at the house will certainly get the blame.. depending on how the conversation turns.... :-? Thats how it is at my place anyway.... ;-)

However I will say that in the end.. the responsibility always ends up with the human.. because after all we have the superior intelligence..

Jane Hurl

Dunno 'bout that, Jas. I know some pretty dumb humans! *grin*

Carol as you can find easily out by asking Leila I am a Clean, Organized, and Habitual Doer of all things.

First: Absolutely no blame can be put on the animals they were doing what nature taught them to do- Be playful and take advantage of all opportunities

Second: There is an old wives tale that says if you place your hat on any eating surface it is the sign of a death. Comes from old wartime tales of early centuries.

Third: There is no place in our home that that cats are not allowed they can walk on the counters, sleep on the bed, and eat anything that is not covered. We even have a table 8 feet long by 2 feet wide covered with formica for easy cleaning that is their own eating table. All of their food is placed on this table and not on the floor. That's only cause Moose will eat everything he finds.

All I can say if if it doesn't move paint it-Old army saying. If hubby doesn't want pets to play with personal belongings choose a color they don't like :D

Have fun :D
