The article describes this mare as a 6 yr old BLACK Paso Fino ( ok she is NOT black, check out her mealy muzzle)It talks about how they use a special barefoot trim method to rehab foundered horses..so ..comments?
The story says the mare 'had feet like elf slippers' when she came to them..I dont think they look any different in the after shot.maybe even worse?Backs look better, but just as in they were trimmed.. Her weight is a little better and she is obviously more comfy..

This is a before/after pic of mare

I don't know that life is fine as they say, but she's obviously more comfortable and able to stand better. Below photo she is leaning way back off those fronts, top photo she is standing more normally. Feet like that don't go away in one trim, will be a long re-hab.

My farrier is not a believer in the barefoot trim. And yes, for sure...it will take a good year to 18 months usually to rehabilitate a foundered horse. Usually the amount of time it takes for that diseased hoof to totally regrow.

I agree looks like a Seal Brown or Seal Bay whichever way you want to say it. I also agree that it takes ages to get hooves right when they have been left like that, it is a real pain to try and get it right without making them foot sore and I do feel for the rescuers on this one.

Did you notice it said they have ridden her?
Bet she is IR. Hope they have her on the diet.

I didn't notice her after trim picture looking a lot better then her before trim picture. She might not be standing as badly, but those feet still look awful.

It does take a while to correct hooves - Monty didn't have any medical problems , just a former owner that didn't have him trimmed for at least 5 to 6 months - they were starting to curl , when I first saw him - in fact - didn't know If I would take him then but yelled at the guy fo rletting him go do long - he did have them trimmed some by the next weekend when I went back to test him out - It took from Oct until April to get them back right
If you go into the full site - the pics are reversed in the first link - and while not corrected all the way - you can see a difference in her pasterns - more upright. JMHO
