Those are disgusting. I hope they find the owner and sentence HIM to starvation.

Felix....hope you can help these six horses!!! Looks like they really need it and are right in your backyard.

that makes me cry. look at the colt in the green halter, he is REALLY nice!

I hope they fry their assas!

I could not sleep at night knowing my horses were hungry, sometimes I wake up in a panic because I think I forgot to feed them (of course I never do but for an instance that is a bad feeling!)

Cristy, you and I must be related. My husband thinks I'm nuts.

yeah my husband is convienced I love the horses more than him. (I don't, but I do think it is okay to love them AS much as I love him. )

It is hard being a horse person married to a non horse person.

What is WRONG with some people? How can this go on? Does't any one notice this crap going on??? That's probably the worst cases I've ever seen. If I could take in more, I sure would. I hope these poor babies find good loving homes. Oh, this has me so upset.

That is the most awful case of starvation I have seen pics of!

I wish I could get my hands on the people that did that to those poor animals!

Carol! we have been on the search for those horses for a very long time! lets not jump the gun here! of accusing the owner! they should definitely bring to justice the person responsible and castrate him! is very sad!

Saludos!

I just noticed their already adopted page had 6 Paso Finos on it!

and 2 still available for adoption, one of which could be my dad's PR geldings twin (Henry is the adoption horses name)

too bad they only adopt to people who live in Fl, he looks like a very nice colt!

The owner may have died or been deported or be in prison or ill - who knows. I say again - make SURE you have backup for your critters. Someone who checks on them regularly. In particular if you live alone and don't have close relatives visiting daily.

His only excuse in my opinion would be if he were dead! I don't care how sick I am, I would call someone to feed and care for my animals!

I have to agree with Buffy. I know you're all being VERY NICE and giving the jerk a possible excuse for such behavior, but I would believe that somewhat less then 2% of animal abuse and neglect comes from a good reason. Chances are much higher that the person was just too selfish, lazy, and irresponsible to feed the horses.

yeah I have to say it would not matter if I had to crawl to the barn on my hands and knees in such agnozing pain I could not stand it, if I did not have anyone else, my horses would be cared for. period. I would die in the barn trying before they would go hungry. The bottom line is if you pen an animal up so that it cannot take care of itsself YOU must do it, this is the responsibility we all take on by owning animals.

Shame on anyone who does any less. For any reason.

I totally agree.

But as I mentioned in the other thread, our boarding barn owner rescued the two minis out of 100 total (98 died) that survived when the elderly owner who fed and watered them by himself for years had a stroke and died without regaining consciousness.

There are many many very old people who live alone and have pets. My dad was one. Luckily when his car radiator blew up on him and knocked him down and broke his hip he did not lose consciousness and called us and we were able to go get his cat and take it to our house. But a lot of these people also live in rural areas, alone, and have no family and little outside contact other than putting to the grocery stores to get food for themself and their critters.

We had two die near my dad's house because the power company turned off their electricity when it was 10 degrees out. They weren't found for several days. The power company no longer cuts off power to anyone when it's below something like 40 degrees or about something like 85 degrees.

I agree with Cristy, and it's half the reason that my CFS is much better is that it doesn't matter how tired or ill you are, your animals still need your care.

I agree with Buffy that would be the only reason for letting the horses starve.

i agree, there's not one single good reason :!: even if both my husband and i had died and just came up missing all of my animals would be cared for.my closest neighbors have a friends number they could contact in an emergency and they know...if i'm not home to feed and water all my babies that would mean something is *very* wrong.your friend, moniece
