This has me laughing. A co-worker showed me pictures of her new baby. Her Mom bought her a 6 mo old filly. I asked her whar breed and she says "its called a kentucky mtn horse or something. i don't really know anything about it."

She has a gaited horse GIVEN to her and doesn't even realize how lucky she is. i laughed and told her what she has. I tried to give her some brief advice about training.

Of course I am also worried.....a person with no experience with a 6 mo old gaited horse. I'll give her lots of info and point her to some good resources.

How about a Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse? Some are double registered also as Rocky Mountain Horses if they meet the criteria. The KMSHA has their big Intl. Show in 3 weeks in Lexington KY..at the Horse Park....so lots of them will be there.

What sort of gait do they perform ?

It depends on the under breeding Amanda, but many are gaited like pleasure Paso Finos. Very smooth.

This is a great prize! Out here their value is much higher then Paso Finos.
