I think we should choose a stallion each week and post pix and articles that we find about each one so we can learn more about foundation stallions and identify them on our pedigrees. Sort of a study group. Who is interested?
Should we start with Dulce Sueno?

Dulce Sueño (Sweet Dream)
To read about the history of Dulcce Sueño and other famous Puerto Rican Pasos I would suggest you read the online article located on the North Atlantic Pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino Organization Inc. website and originally published the The Conquistador Magazine.

Of course, the mares' influence can never be understated!
A new magazine called 'Son de Aqui' was being debuted at a PPR show this past year - one of the feature articles was a very informative comparison of which mare lines and stallion lines nicked well.

Do PR bloodlines have certain notable characteristics in conformation ..such as larger size and longer backs? The gelding I have with the colombian bloodlines is shorter, and stocky with a short back..more like a Barb.

No, actually the Puerto Rican horses tend to show more barb characteristics, and the Colombians, more so andalusian...of course, being the breed's a combo, you will find a % of both, just in varying degrees.
The Batalla line(Kofresi included)is more likely to produce more Barb proportions and lighter muscle type, head and neck shape, known more for swiftness,etc...whereas the Guamani breds tend to have more Andalusian characteristics, esp broadness of frame and muscle.
