Tario had his surgery for the cancer yesterday. It was supposed to be done with a laser, but the vet found it too deep and dense to cut off that way. So he had to revert to the scapel. It was a messy, bloody job, but he thinks he has gotten the majority of it. This will prolong his life, as the vet said.
He is going to be one sore boy for a while.
I have photos, but they are pretty gorey. Anyone want to see?

Well of course......!
I'd like to see...you can email me if you want...if you don't want to post it...but I'd encourage you to post it...we all learn from these experiences.... just when you think you have seen "it all"...something like this presents another opportunity to learn... :D
I hope his recovery is speedy and relatively pain free..... is he on bute or anything?

Good luck. I hope everything heals quickly and it doesn't come back.

I will be posting some photos as soon as I get them uploaded.
He is on bute, and I am also giving him B/L pellets. Personally, I can't imagine how just bute is going to even touch the hurt.

Wow, I expected the horse to be layed out cold! Poor boy! I know it was deadened, but I would have hated to get that first shot of lidocane in that sensitive area!!!
It is amazing how fast we all heal, and that includes horses, but I know he is going to be a sore boy for a little while! Keep that bute administered
right on time! ;-)
