i couldn't wait,i had to ride him.he was fantastic :!: very responsive with the lightest touch.i rode for 20 minutes or so.we did serpentines, stops, flexing, backing, turns, and gaiting.he did very well and we are a great match.he wanted to pay attention to the mares but as soon as we began serpentines he got into his work, they got bored and left the round pen.her round pen is in her pasture :-? .later today i'll move him to the next door property over the fence from my girls and he'll meet them.he did try a few times to just stop and not go but i had him step to the side and continue forward to do what i asked and soon we got past that.Ofcourse he was going to have to try me lol.he was great about tacking up and stood perfectly still till i was on and picked up my reigns.he did very well and i gave him plenty of love to let him know i was very happy with him.he was also great for fly spraying before riding.yep,it's definitely love :D :!:

no pics from today because my friend got kicked in the leg by her *massive*2 y/o freckles playboy granddaughter quarter horse.she is now thinking she would really like a small-er- breed and she's thinking gelding ;-) .....i got her, she'll have a paso soon lol.undersaddle pics tomorrow.your friend, moniece

Sounds like a GREAT boy!!! Can't wait for pictures!!

One thing - a number of paso finos are trained to move off when the reins are lifted. In this case if you leave then across the neck and just put your hand over them as you grab the mane and saddle to mount you may find that he stays totally still. You only pick up the reins when you want him to move off. You'll be able to tell if this is how he was trained if you try this technique. Our guys do much better if we don't pick up the reins but of course you must have your hand on them when you mount in case of a real or imagined scary thing!!!???
