Ok so I went sking at Winterplace in West Virgina. I went with my Church youth group. And I went to the beginner ski school class the first hour and a half. And I did good until we had to go down a steep hill, and I ended up falling down and sliding into another groups jacket pile and into the instructor. It was really embrassing! Then we went to the afternoon sking and me and my friend Alex Conrad went down a slope and ended up not falling down.
We had a lot of fun! This one guy in our group Adam ran into a block of ice and twisted his knee, and ski patrol and to come get him in a sled and take him down to the lodge. It made all of us ski like crazy down the mountain.
Then when we went night sking 2 guys named Will and Wes were sking down a advanced slope. this girl was flying down the mountain(out of control)and she ran into Wes and they went tumbling down the slope about 9 yards and ran to another girl she ended up breaking her leg!!!! During this me and Alex were sking down a slope called Country roads,it was a really cool slope. We all ended up having a great time! Even if our butts were sore from falling.LOL

I've been water skiing and snow skiing ONCE.

Water skiing, I got up on the skis the first time and when I looked at how fast I was going over the top of the water, I freaked. That was the end of my water skiing experience. I am not a good swimmer and have a strong fear of the water (thanks "Jaws") especially water I cannot see through.

Snow skiing I tried when we lived in WA State about 6 years ago. I did the lesson and I was the person who fell down the MOST. I mean, I fell down at least once every 5 minutes the ENTIRE time I was on the skis. I have a bad R hip and I could not turn to the left because I couldn't twist my hip joint to plant that ski to make the turns. So I'd fall. If we were turning right I was great! Left, face-plant.
I also had trouble stopping with the snow-plow technique because I couldn't turn out my R hip which would make me do an abrupt right turn and I'd over-balance and fall.

I'm glad you had fun. I think I'd like to try snowboarding. Once.

That sounds like fun!!!!! I have been too winter place twice in the past 2 years and it was really fun. I snow boarded the first year and skiied the 2nd. Snow boarding is deffintly harder but is still fun. Skiing is much eaiser and I was able to go down a black mountain the first day!!! I water ski all the time in the summer, so that probaly helped some.
Glad you had a good time!!! :D

I went on a lake retreat 2 years ago with the same group, and we tubed and water skied. I only tubed because the water sking looked a little tough.lol
