In need of people with creative minds.....

Ok,
We have an annual Halloween Party at my barn and it is a BIG event, we all dress ourselves and the horses up and go on a trail ride, have mounted and ground games, have a Giant potluck style dinner and a pumpkin carving. I can't even remember how many year we have done this event and we are usually pretty good at picking a creative costume for our whole family...BUT this year we are stumped! And it is only 3 weeks away!!!! Some of our past costumes have been:
- My father was Tinker Bell and we were the Pirate and Peter Pan
- My Father was the little mermaid and my mom was a sailor
- We have been the 3 Amigos, and we used those costumes at the store were it looks like you are sitting on a horse.
- We were the Beverly Hill Billy’s
- The Flintstone Family
- And last year my Parents were aliens and I was a pirate with my Pirate Steed.

Does anyone have any ideas on what we could be this year?
My parents like to match, so I have been trying to think of two famous celebrities but we have NO ideas for this year… :shock:

I dressed Rosie as a Lion and myself as a lion tamer.
I dressed her as a pumpkin patch and I was the Great Pumpkin (this outfit had a grass skirt, but that might be hard to play games in)
You can use the Halloween hair paint and turn your horse into a Zebra, Tiger, Leopard or Dalmatian (you could be the fireman).

You could turn each horse into something different.
Your father's horse could be a lion (and he a lion tamer).
Your mom's horse could be a tiger (and she a tiger tamer).
And you could turn your horse into a Dalmatian (and you a firefighter).

Boy I saw some scary looking outfits just out shopping. I liked the kids skeleton costume, but no adult size. What about the headless horse-man (or woman)? Could be a whole headless family riding on horses. Wouldn't that be a sight.... same as a bunch of skeletons riding on skeleton horses (get creative with the horses and wash off paint) :roll: 8-)

Two really easy costumes we have done:

One is make a large set of wings (we used hangers & tin foil). Attach wings to a surcingle. The person leading the horse carries a fly swatter. You have a HORSE fly

The other is put a snorkle & mask in your horse's head, a donught shaped float around his neck. You have a SEA horse.

I stole Paula's sea horse idea and used it on my mini for a parade we went in a while back. I added flippers (the miniature hot pink "Barbie" ones they make for kids) on my mini stallion's back feet.

It was priceless (though I am pretty sure sure my mini was rolling his eyes behind my back).

Now I think I have one for my horse and I...Well I have one for my HORSE but I don't know how I can match??
I was thinking dressing my mare up like a carousel horse. With a very dressed up crouper, chest plate, polo wraps, bridle decorations...and I can use a western saddle and get a peice of PVC pipe and put it on the horn and that will be the "Pole" connecting the horse. Now though wat can I be to match her?? My mom said, a little girl with pigtails and a lolly pop. But what else would match that? A fairy? Or Ballerina?
