Linked to the FIRST post at the end of the thread.

My post should be directly under yours and indented to the right.

I clicked "reply" and then posted.

So if I am not in "hybrid thread" all the post are listed cronologically. So what's the point? If everyone is not seeing the post directly under the post it is intended to be under, what's the point?

Pasomom

OK, I think I see now. It is in the "tree" not actually posted after you original post. OK, Now I'm getting it. So this one should be indented under your post to my post. LOL

B1 post (third test)

Display mode: Hybrid Thread
Clicked on A1 post in thread
Clicked on button "reply"
Clicked on "submit reply" button

OK, now everyone should see the pattern

I clicked on the A1 post and replied 3 times to that post. In the Hybrid Thread mode it shows up under indented more to the right each time and linked to the AI post.

You can only see the "tree" in Hybrid or threaded mode. It does get a bit confusing, and I doubt that we will see this feature used much, but it is an option ;)

Right O!

It begins a tree. Now I've responded to your post by clicking onto your response then clicked "reply" then "submit reply"

I doubt it too. I'm only playing around. I don't like the linear display because I can't keep track of the conversations. If you want your reply linked to a particular post, then use the hybrid thread display.

NOTE: ONLY THE LINEAR AND HYBRID ALLOW FOR QUICK REPLY.

C1 post--quick reply to B1 (first test)

Yes, I see, you can not access quick reply under threaded. I kinda like the hybrid too. You just go to the tree and click on each conversation, on down the line....Of course, I suspose others have to be using the quick reply in order for it to show it in line according to conversations. Other wise, only your quick replies will be in the order you put them.

Yeah, if you believe the posts are chronological, the linear mode will mess you up because it follows the "tree" not the time posted.

Last test

Quick reply to FIRST post. Use Hybrid thread mode to see link

Candice Burger
10-15-2007, 04:54 PM
Clicked on B1 (test 2) post

clicked on "quick reply to message"
clicked on "post quick reply"

NOTE: when you click on the specific post in hybrid thread display it brings up ONLY posts directly linked to that post.

NOTE: the display is by tree heiarchy THEN by date and time.

Edit: Also when in the hybrid thread mode, the icons are color coded to show new posts and the first line in the message is bold underline to show it hasn't been read.

Well, this is going to confuse some folks because most are used to a strict time-line in posting.

If anyone uses the hybrid thread or thread mode....WATCH OUT! the thread will no longer follow a date/time chronology. It'll follow the tree structure first and then the time.:p

Well, this is getting to be fun!

When logging in, automatically puts diplay in linear mode. Have to manually change the display for each logged-in session.
