The videos of the horses were beautiful. Sounds like an aspiring and promising trainer.

Now...someone help me. What is the breeding of Fresians? I didn't think they were Iberian.

I know, I wondered the same thing. Maybe they don't know horses as well as they think they do :D?

Well - did anyone look at the other 'part blood' registries?......register your cross breed here!

My mind isn't real clear on this, but I vaguely recall Friesians do have some genetic link to the Iberian breed in that they contain the Napoleon horse in their original makeup as do the Luistano and Andalusian.

I think you're right- though I thought I noticed that this trainer listed his Friesian separately from the Iberians. Deb Bennett in 'Conquerors' mentions that though the Friesian is an old breed with fragmentary stud records back to the Renaissance, they were influenced by Spanish stallions, along with Arabians, Bretons, Thoroughbreds, and here's one that surprises me, more recently American Saddlebreds.

Well, I just found out a bit more about Paul Dufresne, the trainer at PK Equestrian. He and his wife were involved in Peruvians in the NW for a time then moved on to the Andalusians. I've been told he is a very nice guy and his clinics are well worth attending. It just happens he is doing one not too far from me in Arlington, WA in a couple of weeks. So I might just see if I can audit, or at least attend the Fri. night demo.

I've had to miss several horsie events in a row due to family issues, it's time!
