I'm curious, my horses barely have winter coats yet. normally by this time they are all fuzzy like big teddy bears but this year their coats are a little thicker than their summer hair but very short. Everyone is pretty young and in great condition. Anyone else noticing anything wierd?

My thinnest-coated horses are showing pretty fuzzy, the heavier ones still look "normal."

The thinly coated horses here did the same thing - just a slightly thicker fuzz, very shiney and not all sticking out like a winter coat. Here's a pic:

The lighter parts on his neck and cheek are almost irridescent. But last week, they started fuzzing up lilke crazy and now look like wooly worms. And I KNOW you know what wooly worms are in WV! :)

Not a lot here yet either. Definitely more than summer coat but not as fuzzy as they usually are by now.

Yeah, Soltera that is what pretty much ALL mine look like. I really hope it does not get really cold fast now. :frown:

I wish they made a pill you could give them and make them fuzz up. lol

Yes I have seen MANY wollie worms here lately, lol

We rode one of the early fuzzies last Sunday, and when we got back she looked EXACTLY like a Bakshir Curly!

You know, actually, it was. All the curls were the same size and shape, and lay down sweetly against her body. But in 5 minutes she was cool, and when they started to dry it made her look like a bay Pomeranian! :v:

My gelding is the fuzziest I've ever seen him!

Bianca is moderate fuzzy - I had to blanket her this a.m. since it was 23 degrees, and Darius is still sleek like it's summer (guess this TN weather is nothing compared to Colorado!)

If it helps my paso mare is not that hairy over here too but my miniatures are VERY hairy, my Lipi isn't that hairy yet either !!

My boys are puffing right up. It's been cold now for several weeks up here.

I love to bury my hands in their fur ...they feel like bunnies to me.

Scooter likes to rest his head on Snowy's big butt when it puffs up...maybe he thinks it's a pillow....it always gets him kicked.
