I found a way to pay for the lawyer. I won't go into exactly how, but it was legal...lol
Now, back to the inspectors for advice on which lawyer knows the most about this stuff. Then off to see the lawyer.
I'll tell you what I find out!
Oh, and I thought it'd be fun to at least think about what other animals I can raise here if the town still holds me to 2 horses.
I've always wanted to ride cow. I'm ok with that...lol No one said I can't raise cows here.
Maybe I'll get a few pigs. (Scratching my head.) Maybe I'll become a pig RESCUE!
I think it'd be fun to toss around some ideas.
You know I've always wanted to ride ostriches. That's a thought.
Imigosh...doesn't someone in MA own a Camel? http://bestsmileys.com/bouncing/5.gif
Oh, yes. I like this idea. What do YOU think I should raise?

No camels they spit. Ostriches kick, very nasty.
How about a donkey or mule? If the ordinance specifically says horses, get a mule. They are loud too. Go for the peacock, Guinea's are loud too, plus they get rid of ticks.
I like the pig idea. I have actually told the adjoining property owner it they sell for a subdivision I was going to put pig pens along the proerty line.

Peacocks are amazingly load and do sound like a person screaming - very unpleasant at night I can tell you, our neighbour has them !!!
What about a Zebra - you can ride one and it's not a horse.
Kune Kune pigs are also very fun and smelly !!!

I shared this thread with Tony and he's terrified that he's going to come home to some sort of zoo situation....lol
I think those Kunekune pigs can go either way. Some were adorable.
A cute little cow might be a great friend for Snowy. I can totally picture myself doing this....

Well, actually my husband, who is visually impaired, can't see the barn from the house. So I'm thinking I don't have to tell him EVERYTHING. So far he knows about ALL acquisitions and is okay with them, but I am pretty sure I could sneak in a llama and he might not notice for months.

That's the thing about Certified Annoyance Peacocks, too, the annoyance goes both ways. Therefore, might I suggest some Annoyance Animals which would do their neighborly best to Be Themselves, but which would also be helpful around the farm, AND possibly net you some extra income on the side?
Behold, the harness goat:

You have to scroll past the zebra to get to the good stuff on this site. I think I'd like to drive an ostrich cart.

There's always endangered spotted skunks!
Peacocks are not only really noisy but they are NOT potty trained and love swimming pools decks and driveways in particular.
Goats are really great if you have good fences. You could keep your bucks penned on the fence lines. This way you won't smell them but everyone else will!! I will warn you if you give your goats full access to your property they will eat all your shrubbery, anything that is paper, and they will sleep on your porch next to the door so you can't get out. They will also leave you lots of little presents everywhere. They must have shelter - they hate to get wet. And if they don't like your place you can't keep them in. Ours can jump 5 feet from the downhill side without a running start. I LOVE goats though. They are the nicest animal unless you happen to need the road map they snatched and are madly chewing while they run from you as you run after them loudly cursing.

And I thought seeing two riders riding cows on our country road was unusual! I passed them on my way home a couple of days ago. One of the riders is a neighbor, quirky as they come. He told me he was riding a longhorn steer at a local tourist attraction....I didn't expect a regular cow with short horns...ridden in a halter and with a saddle. I raced home to get my camera, but couldn't find them after getting back to take the pictures...It was quite a sight! Both fellows wore cowboy hats, vests, bandanas....My neighbor...is missing teeth, has a moustache...etc...He is a real nice, gentle character and very horse-knowledgeable. I always enjoy talking to him. He also has a set of mules that he drives. And he has a cannon and black powder guns (that he doesn't shoot in the neighborhood).
By the way....donkeys DO make a "racket", but they are soooo cute...might get too attached. Peacocks are pretty loud....

Definately Guinea!!! They also make fantastic watchdogs but they are bit stupid. Really loud and annoying also. ;)

Giuneas are a little stupid, agreed. We have 15 and there's always one who can't figure out how to get over the fence (um, fly?) like the other ones did. Nice and loud, great for announcing strange vehicles and escapees. The horses seem to tolerate them well. Buy extras to start, though, we lost half of the store bought ones but all the ones born this year have survived.
