I am finding it extremely difficult to find products not made by China. EVERYTHING is!!!!!! Anyone also trying to avoid china-made products?
Here is another piece of evidence that we should and a warning:

LOL, I tried that one year. I decided I would not buy ANYTHING from a country that had human rights issues. I was going to start a "movement". Tried to talk all my friends and neighbors into a similar action. My kids almost had to go barefoot. I finally conceeded that we could buy used stuff from those countries. The kids ended up wearing sneakers I bought at yard sales. All the toys under the tree that year were from yard sales. No new electronics...etc. After a year, my kids hated me and I hadn't freed a single slave. Sigh. Good luck.

Terri, I can't believe you actually tried that! All I ever do is snort to myself and think, "Nah, I'll never buy a product from China that ends up hurting me...." Yeah, right. A friend of mine who shops everywhere I shop recently lost her "soul mate" dog to melamine tainted pet food!
My hat's sure off to you for trying it, Terri, and to jodiTowne for bringing it up! I heard on NPR about a family who tried that, and they wrote a book about it, too: A Year Without “Made in China”.
jodiTowne and others, check out this article, a mini interview with the authors, for a good synopsis of what they went through:

Terri.....that is too funny. I guess i won't have much luck.
I read the article too. Very interesting. I don't like the idea of relying on another country for our products......
