Well guys it happened. I got fired today. Wicked boss spun a good web to HR and I am gone now.
I am relieved it is over. I negotiated a decent severence pay package... So I will be ok for a bit...
It gives me a real chance to go to the Ozarks to job hunt! I booked my flight tonight, I leave sunday, I will be there all week lookin for work.. I pray I find somethin and can finally move there! I also started linin up a few interviews so I have something to go for.. I will be visiting the 11acre log home I want to buy, the owners are so nice, invited me over for dinner!
I went to go hug my horses after it happened. Feel lots better..lol
Some co-workers who knew what was goin on are so upset, they dont understand how this woman can stay and I go.. but oh well.
Wish me luck guys!

I'm sorry! But, as you said, maybe everything will work out perfectly. My husband quit a job so he could move with me for my job (at the time he was fiance). He took a 50% cut in pay, but hated the other job. Well, another company found out he quit and hired him. It is a great job. They wouldn't hire him as long as he worked for the other company as it was one they sold products to. So....you never know. Good luck!!

Pasofan,
I admire the way you took a negative situation and you went straight into a plan on how to turn it around to your benefit! People who do that tend to end always land on their feet.
Good luck!

Oh Jen, that sucks. But this might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. 16 yrs ago my husband got fired from his good job and I was unemployed and pregnant. It was scary for a while, but if it hadn't happened he wouldn't be where he is today - a much better job! So things happen for a reason. You will be okay.

I think you'll be better than "okay". With your attitude, and your pro-active stance, I'm betting you'll land something better in no time flat.

Have faith!! Seek and you will find. I just got a great new job myself...after looking & looking. So PERSEVERE!
I seem to remember you are in the banking industry..... in Colorado Springs area there are new banks being built every day...you may want to log onto state of Colorado and go to the "workforce" website and put in a resume' on line...that is... if you would like to come this far west... I would BET there is a job for you out here.....
One word of caution... FEED and FUEL are very high here.....

You have a great attitude and by being pro-active, are positioning yourself perfectly for the life you want! If you can envision it, make a plan, and are willing to work for it, it will happen! Good luck - I hope everything comes out better than you imagine!

Well, Jen, here is something that has followed me throughout my life...just when something that seems totally disastrous happens and you think you will never make it through, when the dust clears...life turns absolutely fabulous! When one door closes, another opens.
You know, you might consider Austin, TX. It's one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, the most desireable city for single people...and one of the few where construction and job opportunities are booming. Horse property is still relatively reasonable, and feed is still fairly affordable. Actually San Antonio has an even lower standard of living. My daughter lives there and bought her own home quite easily.
You'd certainly get away from those gosh-awful winters up there!!

Well, sometimes it seems like evil triumphs, but, give it time. I was fired on the lies of my evil supervisor in July. I started work last month at $7000 a year more.
Today, I got a client from my old company, because they have been openning cases without the employees to cover them. Ha, ha, laughing all the way to the bank. Love my new job, where I am treated with respect.
Praying for you. You are not alone and better days are around the corner.
