Hi All,
I'm looking to purchase and older Paso Fino Stallion.Something between the age of 18-22 and sound for a small farm.We have 4 mares but are expanding.A show record would be nice but not nessary. I'd like horse to be at least 14HH have no major health problems and be fairlly easy to handle.Would like to be able to ride this horse lightly no major work.
I can offer this horse a great home lots of love and attention, turn out, regular vet and ferrier work, girls ,a private stall but he can see other horses. We feed quility grain and hay 2 times a day horse are never left outside over night .Out nearst neighbor is 1/4 mile away.we are serounded by trees. and our fences contain no bar wire .
Willing to pay a fair price not to high due to age of horse but can give back a foal or free breeding for the life of the horse plus some payment/$$ depends on the horse. We do show so might take Stallion for demos.
Please e-mail if you have or know of a horse that would work for me also if you need more info on me and what can be offered.I'm planning to look for a while as i will want to come see the horse but when i find the one o want will purchase quickly
Thank You

Anyone actually mention the possibility of an older stallion for this person? And why is it needed and not just AI which is cheaper in the long run? NOT NOT NOT being agressive....just wondering?

We want a stallion on the propertiy I've bred out and had so many problem that AI is not an opion right now I'm burnt out in thats aspect. An older stallion fits our needs it allows me to find the right horse for me to match my mares and what I feel is important to our breeing program.Thought I will say I do not want a fino horse that is not the direction I want to go.
The stallions photo tell me more about him is he Fino being from Capuchino I'm looking more for a Performance type horse.and a grey might not work well for me because I do have some Pinto mares.
Thanks for letting me know

You got the smarts not to buy a gray when you have Pintos...I can't for the life of me ever understand why someone would breed a Pinto to a gray.

Aw...Shelley...nothing against you! Just that I sold a Pinto colt from my homozygous gray mare a few years ago...and those spots are fading fast! That Pinto will be white in a few more years!
(Luckily I put that in the sales contract...bay/GRAY Pinto colt.)

Carol I would admit a washed out gray/white will look horrible...same thing with breeding apps to roan QH kills color...I honestly did not think about that when I bought Dioso I just loved her color..and Vence too I thought he was pretty for a trail nag..

Well...now, you can always breed her to Rojo...hehehe...how about this???
http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/data/36931colt3.jpg
...a nice little tri-color colt with one blue eye! You might get something like this from your filly and Rojo. ;-)
Actually to give credit, this is a homozygous colt the same age as my Pequena Flor, who is by Acapella's Comanche. This colt was for sale, I believe...if anyone's interested, I can check for you.

No, no...this isn't a Rojo colt...want to clarify that. This colt is by Acapella's Comanche..isn't he in the stallion contest now??? A red and white homozygous stallion who IS here in Texas.
I simply meant that if you bred little Dioso to Red, you MIGHT get one like that. ;-)
(actually, we are hoping to get a foal like that someday out of our homozygous mare, Canela de Sangria, when we DO breed her to Redman...but she's going back to Pegasus Dos next spring for another homozygous foal).

Oooo...Serendipity, that's a nice Pinto stallion...I've seen that photo of Regalo before. He's awesome...what's his stud fee now? Wish they had some confo pictures of him on there.
We got such a beautiful black and white filly out of Pegasus Dos this last spring and that gives us a guaranteed homozygous foal as our Canela de Sangria (Santana del Cardo) is tested homozygous. Our dream is to produce a homozygous Pinto breeding stallion from the two. If our Pequena was a colt, she would be going nowhere...but alas, we always had planned to sell the foal if it was a filly. My goals were to use Canela to increase the Estaban line size limitation, and use Pegasus Dos to tighten up Canela's gait...and believe I succeeded in both endeavors!
The main complaint about Dos seems to be his being small but I'll tell you, he's been producing some pretty large foals in the last couple years...seems to be the size of the mares that determine how large his babies are. Pequena is going to be a nice size horse. Here's a recent pic, she is still for sale!

This is a Regalo son and a Dos grandson. Think he might be homozygous. He is the tallest foal and the second youngest one. I think he is going to be close to 15h. He is for sale and reasonably prices too.
We really wanted a filly.

He has a nice pedigree and though the pic is small, I think he looks pretty balanced and appears to have nice comformation.
Laid back shoulder with good slope, short back, rounded croup with lots of muscle area, shorter topline compared to longer bottomline. Good heartgirth for lung capacity. Can't really see his head or legs to comment.
What type gait and personality does he have and is that what you are looking for?
I really liked the 21 year old. My aged Appy was still going strong at age 29 (euth due to cancer). He didn't start to 'look' his age until about 26.
