CRITERIA FOR TEAM SELECTION
FINAL TEAM SELECTION WILL BE DONE BY MAY 1, 2006. THE TEAM WILL BE SELECTED BY THE HEAD COACH. ALL DECISIONS OF THE HEAD COACH ARE FINAL.
1. Attendance and participation in at least one approved Youth Mundial clinic.
2. In the event that the number of more entries than available slots for the class, the competitor will be selected, in order of priority, based upon the following:
a. PFHA Grand National Show competition record in Gold Medal Equitation from the inception of the class through 2005.
b. PFHA Grand National Show competition record in equitation and horsemanship for up to five years including 2005.
c. PFHA regional and local show competition record in Silver Medal Equitation from the inception of the class through 2005.
d. PFHA regional and local show competition record in equitation and horsemanship for up to five years including 2006.
e. Prior experience in international competition(s).
f. Other equitation experience. This can include competition in 4-H, Pony Club, or other breeds.
g. PFHA Grand National Show competition record in other youth classes.
h. PFHA regional and local show competition record in other youth classes.
3. If required, recommendations of the regional coach(es).

NOTE: Evaluation of show records will not be based upon total show points only. The head coach, regional coaches, and committee members realize that in some areas of the country youth riders have many more opportunities to show than in other regions. The selectors will consider this as well as other factors including the ages of the competitors when placing at shows. For example, a sub-junior rider who competes in and places in the Gold Medal Class at the national show has exhibited a level of proficiency that will be given great weight in the selection. Likewise, attendance at more than one clinic is encouraged and will be considered.
