No more Run for the Roses

I guess it happened yesterday, but Dan Fogelberg died of prostate cancer. He was only 56.

That is the only song about horses that really 'made it' in main stream media.

I saw that last night, that is sad. Dan F was one of my very favorite artists. I saw him in concert once and have all of his albums. :mecry:

How sad. Run for the Roses has always been my all time favorite song. We were on the Cross Country Trail Ride one year, my oldest son was in the Army and this was the first time he had ever missed going to this trail ride with us since he was born. My youngest son was with us, but leaving for the Army after we got home. They have a band that plays everynight on the ride, and they dedicated that song to me and my boys!! It still brings tears when I think of it.
