:DI am not going to survive this mess. All this time even with a bad concussion my headhad not hurt. Dizzy-yes. Nausea-yes. Spinning rooms- oh yes.

Went to doctor yesterday ang got stitches out ofmy head. Man that hurt like a son of gun. Nurse said stitches were made so tiny she could hardle see them much less gt a grip on them. Then she clipped one and pulled - DAAAAANNNGGGG, she goes oops there were a couple running looped stitches. She said hospital doctor must have gotten tired oftying individual ones.

They replaced splint on my hand. Doctor told them to make the gutter smaller, the original one was so wide we had to roll up a sock to support my hand. This time the nurse made the gutter si it would only come up to the knuckle on my pinky finger.(the pinky and ring fingr had hairline fractures of the knuckles)

Got home and later in the day I was holding a cup in my good hand sat down and MISSED the darn chair, grabbed and bent backwards fingers in injured hand YEOW!:mad2: Our floors are ceramic tile so that was quite a jar. Cup went flying and I bumped my head on my desk. Within a couple mins I got soo sleepy and since Ellis was feeding up I dropped right off to sleep. Ellis had a cow when he came inside so he got me up and I felt fine till I went to bed several hours later.

This morning I could barely move and my had looked like a dang boxing and durt like crazy. I had to roll outta bed becuase everything has caught up with Ellis finally. He was/is in such pain with bad headache to top it off he could not OPEN his eyes ALL day.

I called my moms and thank GOD my sister was off today. They came over, she took Cody to school camew back and got me. After feeding the horses (poor things were wondering if it was to take me all week to feed them one meal) 45 mins later (10 min job) I was done! Sister took me to the ER.

Now instead of 2 fractures, I have 2 shattered knuckles grrrr:mad2:. They call it a boxers break. SOOO now I am in a REAL deep gutter splint. Specialist looked at it and for this kind surgery cannot be done. They have now added a sling to my aggravation.

So as i ckose this post. I have headache, my right eye hurts, my hand aches, sore muscles all over. Still gotta go feed. Hey I just may get done by morning:D

Best of all. I am alive breathing, can still walk and see.

Happy holidays and god bless you every one!

Geeze Laweeze Leila - you REALLY need to take it easy. Have someone put out lots of hay for you - those horses won't miss a meal (not like they're skinny or anything). I think someone up above is trying to make you take a little breather and slow down. We know you really punched Ellis and that's why your knucles are worse and he has a headache

Do we all need to come take your horses away so you can heal???? I'm willing to do that ya know. Many prayers and blessings for you and Ellis too.

Boy, there goes that old raining and pouring thing again. Holy cow. I think it is just about time that you take it easy on yourself!
Really, that has got to hurt. But I am worried about your concussion and hitting your head again. You have Ellis keep a real close watch on you. And if you do need to take a few days to recover, take Sally up on her offer to keep the horses for a bit. She will bring them back, won't you Sally??

Since it is physically impossible for Leila to take it easy, I think we need to tape some rolls of charmin on her so she will have protective padding.:p;)

Seriously though Leila, you need to be more careful and really really take it easy!

Leila ... while your efforts are certainly of heroic proportions, before you kill yourself, don't you think it would be advisable to get SOMEONE ELSE to come look after things for you for a while? A daughter? A son? A neighbour?

Concussions are NOT to be fooled with (take a look at Mohammed Ali!) and it sounds like you re-concussed yourself! And ... you DO want to be able to use your hands again some time in the future, don't you? So ... STOP IT! *she said stamping her foot and looking quite cross*

Hey Leila:

I am not a computer geek so I don't know how to do the hug thing, but just know I am sending every one I can type/esp to you. As an x-ray tech, I know boxers fx cannot be fixed, they just have to heal and well your head has proven it can take a beating and keep on ticking, LOL but seriously be happy you are breathing and able to think somewhat clear headed even if it is in a fog. You will get better and Blessing is just waiting for you to go strutt his stuff again and show off his momma. We all are thinking of you and if I had a way to come help you I would, hands down, very carefully so as not to hurt anymore. Keep your chin/er your head up and smile and remember there is always somebody worse, like someone who has broken both arms or legs, man I have seen that and it aint no picnic. You stay strong.

Take care

I think you need a padded stall;)

Seriously we need to dress you up in a Baseball catchers garb. Face mask, helmet, body armour.

Leila, I KNOW you want to do the things that need to be done, but don't be stupid about it. Your health comes first, period. If you don't have your health you will be in a world of deep doodie. Take care of yourself.

Treat youself like you would treat Blessing if he was injured.

Jane -- I am going to beascareful as I possibly can be. As for help coming-- families have lives and jobs they ust take care of. Oldest daughter came and fed Ellis this morning. Son just got home from work. But his wife is still in the hospital with the baby. Baby had some breathing problems and heart murmur. He is off oxygen now but his resperation is very fast. They said if he is ok he can come home tommorow.

I promise I will do my best as safely as I can no matter how slow I am.

Candy I will be okay and since I am actually looking forward to taking Blessing out in public more to show this magnificent breed.

oh and he has a new riding buddy that he bonded with instantly! She is Reina de Vez the daughter of my late Reina de Guamani And with the same gentle spirit I am truly nlessed:)

DITTO!!!!!!!!!! You need to heal. Take it easy. A few weeks out of an entire life time doesn't count for much. Put your feet up and eat chocolate.

I have a big box of bubble wrap - I may have to send that and a roll of duct tape and have Ellis wrap you up! LOL
If you behave yourself - and cool your jets a while - you will heal faster - keep up the nonsense, and you will take longer to heal!
Sounds like time to have family and neighbors help come and feed !

Jane - FYI - Mohammed Ali Has Parkingson's Disease - I met him a number of years ago when he was involved with a company locally . He is slow but not because of the boxing - it is the disease . :)

Leila, I haven't been on the forum for awhile and am just reading about your accident now. Wow, I am so glad you are OK. That must have been terrifying for you and Blessing, your family and friends. Thank goodness you are on the mend. Hugs to you! You are an amazing woman!

:DI am so dang bored. Nothing to do. Get tired of reading books.. Did load dishwasher. LOL get woppy headed bending over.

wrote out all current thank you cards.

made bed 15 minutes, going from side to side. MAN you wouldn't think that would tire you out.

can't wrap gifts with one hand, can put hanna's hair in rollers or pony tail one handed

I sure appreciate the courage folks have that really only have one appendage.

You never know what you have until you lose it:)

The Beat Goes On!!!

started painting hot tub room but soon realized i need to put the plaster on the bare sheetrock first not the paint
LOL

Cool games! I like Invisible Cursor....

Funny, meaningful and gently Christian one-panel cartoons (hundreds of them) which are very well drawn and colored. If you're into that. :D

I am so bored and since Ellis feels bad I plastered a 2x4 foot section of the new room last night and about another 18 inch x 2 foot section this morning. i painted 1/4 of th inside of one of our entrance doors last night too, going to try and at least finish the door today.

I think Blessing has found a new love. went out to turn him out on some rye grass for about an hour. I did not realize Reina is as adept as her momma Reina at unlocking gates. She got out out and followed Blessing to the pasture. I will try to take pictures. She walks with her nose touching Blessings rump. So cute. They are inseperable.

I am going to rest a bit now and get back to work. S-L-O-W-L-Y I promise.

You plastered a room and painted the doors and you are calling that getting back to work slowly? You and I have a different definition of taking it easy.

I am glad Blessing has a new friend.

If she wasn't, the whole room would be done!!!

I know how that is...being forced to take it easy....I was back riding 1 week after knee surgery a few years back.....of course the Dr said 2 week minimum, but knew I would do it anyway!

today started slow but I made it through. Started painting where I left off last night. Got more plastering done then Ellis figured he would fix a piece of sheetrock for me and ended up doing whole wall. More plastering and painting. Now I am waiting for plaster to dry so I can finish off the third wall. Ceiling may not ge finished but that is ok too.

Will be done before I can ride. Been reading a book Terri sent me and it is awesome! The stories are written in the words and thoughts of the horse.
Exactly the way I like.:D

26 days left:grayhorse:
