I thought I would post, in hopes that someone near this horse can help,
Last night we recovered a 12 yr old registered gelding named Quick
Silver. 14.2 H..He had been sold over a year ago and with a small amount
still owed on him we let the buyer take him to their home a couple
hours away. Payment did not come as promised and the monthly bills
started to be returned a couple months ago marked "No Forwarding
Address". We received a tip as to the new location of the horse and
that he was "skinny". Well I hoped it was an exageration but it
really wasn't. Apparently after a divorce the buyer left the horse
with a friend to care for him and took a job that involves a lot of
out of state travel. When Gordon showed up at the farm where the
horse was rumored to be located he found the ground covered in snow
and ice (and has been for days) and no tracks from the house to the
barn at all. There was no food or water anywhere in site. Needless
to say the gelding is going to need some TLC to put the weight back
on. We started him on a diet to bring him back to normal food
intake and wormer has been administered. His feet actually don't
look bad and he appears healthy other then being very thin. His
unpaid expenses at this point are $1500.00 We are mostly interested
in finding him the right home. If anyone has any ideas this guy is
located in central Pa right now and pictures of him taken when he
was sold can be seen on our website at www.featherhills.com (http://www.featherhills.com)
