Heidi, mine is a Dyson also, used it already today. We had Christmas yesterday. I really like it. Could not believe the dog hair it picked up. It is going to get a work out here with 6 dogs in the house for the winter.

A book called 'One Good Horse' by Tom Groneberg about ranching and cowboy life. A couple of gift cards, some under-the-counter LED lighting for the kitchen, and a mystery present from hubby that hasn't arrived yet.

Hey, Cousin Helen, I bought my husband some Bull Snort Texas Sweat this summer. That's some hot stuff.

Santa brought me a new HP notebook (I think because I've been cussing this no-name computer for 2 years now). He also gave me a GREAT Merek vet book for horses, dogs, cats, and other pets...even written in English instead of Latin! LOL

The Notebook has Windows Vista on it. I think by the time I figure it out, it'll be spring. :v:

Best friend gave me Lee Ziegler's book on training gaited horses and a wonderful hand-painted horse-tile box. I'll have to keep something special in it.

Beautiful Christmas here....fresh snow from last night, then the clouds went away and we had beautiful sunshine all day. Awesome on the white snow.

We had a Christmas miracle. We actually got rain! Enough that we had puddles in the pasture & driveway. We haven't had puddles since this time last year.

Thank you Jesus!!

More rain please.

Here is Rosie on Christmas Eve. I'm sure she's asking, "What's with the $#%! camera? Where's DINNER?"

This morning, the sun melted away the clouds, taking the snow with it and it was a beautiful day.

And her is my old Lab Dendra and pup Ruby enjoying the snow. I'm sure this is Dendra's last Christmas with us. She's having a pretty rough time these days.

We got Carol's snow. It started snowing this morning and was still going after dark....First thin, small flakes, turning into huge ones within a couple of hours. Definitely a "White Christmas". By the evening, we had 3" on the ground.
A good friend gave me a book by Mark Rashid -- "Considering the horse", along with a handcrafted bookmark.
Got some nice gifts, but the best ones were that my family was together and we had a great time at home, watching movies (It's A Wonderful Life), talking, laughing, and eating good food.
And ...my daughter found our 4 handmade stockings by my mother-in-law and me, that I had misplaced 5 years ago and thought were lost....

Listen Cousin Carol D, I got a buzz just smelling that "Fire in the Hole" stuff.
If I were to actually eat this, I'd be sitting on Cousin Paula's new toilet, seeing it snow in Miami and while playing with Cousin PasoFan's rocks.

What's Cousin Carol Nelson's address, please?
I'm sure she'd love this Bull Snot stuff.
I'd bet next day, she'd be telling us that Santa called to deliver a new refrigerator.

We aren't celebrating until today and myfolks should be here in about 3 hrs 17 minutes. (Not that I am counting down hehehe)

Only thing I know for sure is I got a camera in there somewhere coming. And Del is grounded from using it again grrrrrrrrrrr!

I've got coffee ready to brew, orange rolls ready to cook and bags ready for shredded wrapping paper.

I may get something next week = ) We will see.

Oh we did get a new Newf/Pyr rescue in Xmas eve, so it was a present of a different kind. He got us to find him a new home in the upcoming weeks. For me that is one of the best presents we get on my Birthday or Christmas, keeping another dog from going to the shelter or rescuing it from a shelter. Could not ask for anything better really.

Only thing I know for sure is I got a camera in there somewhere coming. And Del is grounded from using it again grrrrrrrrrrr! Why did you give your camera to Del in the first place?

PS...Cousin Helen, if you want to try some of that stuff, you are more then welcome to come sit in my snowbank the next day.

Well, Del took it upon himself to grab it whilest my back was turned. It was many feet outside the roundpen on the mounting block. He stuck his neck through, grabbed it and ran. I turned around and thought I misplaced it elsewhere. THen i spotted the thief! I chased him down as he dragged it through the sand and after he already cracked it a few times with his teeth :mad2::mad2: But I will be happy to take pics again.

Oh...that's funny. Always to glad to hear OTHERS trials and tribulations with these boys that have a sense of humor. It makes me feel less alone. LOL

When shopping for a camera for trail riding, I found one that is shock resistant and water resistant. I didn't find one that was bite-proof though. Good luck with it!!!

JennLM
12-26-2007, 01:46 PM
I had planned on buying the underwater housing for this camera to keep the sand out and probably save it if it gets bitten again lol

Believe me, I was less thrilled at the time.

But, for all the shock value I get when people ask for pics of the rescues or updates and I tell them I can't because our horse ate it, is priceless.

In his defence, the strap looked alot like the end of the longeline he picks up for me.

I got some money, enough to get the size barn (roof) that I wanted. The barn (roof) comes tomorrow. I'll post some pics! Also got a camera with lots of bells and whistles, so now I'm doing some (very happy) homework!

Best present, some of pnally's rain, exept in the form of sleet and freezing rain. It's going to melt today, I hope, so the roof installers won't be shy about these mountain roads. Can't wait to get my boys home!

How lucky we all are. We did not get a tsunami like Indonesia got in 2004!

Counting blessings....

I was expecting to get a portable DVD player.....

BUT....

My jaw about hit the floor when I opened the box from my husband and it said "Olympus" on it and it was a digital SLR 10 megapixel camera!

Unbelieveable!!

Then he said....just go ahead and buy a DVD player of your choice....

Oh..HAPPYINES!:v:

My new girl is "Evita Bien Vee" Registration # 30,155 PFHA.. She is 9 years old.

She is a real sweetheart, and very willing. She is Chestnut with a star, strip and snip and one white stocking on right rear.

I haven't had time to take any good close up shots yet. The previous picture is when we went to look at her, and pick her up.

She came from a very loving home and you can tell it. We rode her this Holiday week, and she was very sweet and willing. She was only started as a 6 year old, and has not been riden in a year. I was impressed with her willing attitude, and so far, no major spooks! Even the cows didn't seem to bother her, and I doubt she has seen too many of those, coming from Miami

She has become very attached to our Arab Mare, Princess, as she is the lowest on our social ladder. I'm sure it will take her some time to come "into" herself, but for now, she is content to hang with Princess....like real close LOL ;)

I'm real excited to have a new girl that I will be able to enjoy on the trails, along with my best girl Miss Candee.

Pictures to follow when I can manage.....sorry :frown:

My Mother-in-law made me a quilted table runner, and also made Tori a doll quilt that is ADORABLE! I'll have to get pictures to post.....

Tori's 'big' present came from her aunt and uncle (Michaels' sister) - a ride-on spring horse! It even whinnies and does the 'clip-clop' when you press its' ears.....
lots of other misc stuff - under the tree is packed!!!
