Erin, Kim, Chrissy and Me went out on a New Years Day ride (it is a tradition) It was cold and threatening rain/freezing rain, but we made it back just as the wet stuff was starting to fall. The horses were frisky, it was a great ride.

Brrr... that looks cold! Probably not much colder than here, tho.
Thanks for sharing the pretty ponies! And cute chicks, too.

We probably had a bout a foot of snow right before Christmas, but then we had some warm days, in the 40s, and some rain and some sun and other than some piles here and there it is gone. The real problem is the ICE. If you look in the cranberry bog off to the left, that canal is all ice. There are large patches of ice all over the place. My paddock is still full of ice. Today we are getting cold rain and by Thurs it will be in the teens. Ice will be a huge problem.

Um, I think all the snow is at my house. The snowbanks are up to my armpits and we are in the process of 'collecting' up to possibly 18 more inches.
At least I can ride in the snow. Sorry about all your ice Terri. Glad you had a chance to squeeze in your traditional New Years Day ride!

Thanks CAM, I feel soooooo much better! LOL Misery loves company!! ;) They said on the news we had 214% of our normal snowfall in December! :frown: I'm really tired of snow.

I saw some snow in the video, so I feel better.

I'm with the other northerners though...too cold here! 11 this morning and already tonight. Supposed to drop to 2 in the morning. :mecry:

We had about 8-10 inches of the white stuff by the end of the day yesterday - and another few inches today.....heavy, sticky stuff - just right for making snowballs!

There is ICE underneath it though - got the truck stuck briefly while plowing today, slipped/fell once.....

BUT - I got to go skiiung (Cross-country) for the first time this year!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for posting the video. Totally awesome.
Hearing about you all's cold weather -- I certainly can't whine (overly much) about a little fog, and rain forcast for the next 10 days. This is Oregon, after all.

Thanks! I am in absolute love with him! He's really starting to mature out very nicely and he's SUPER sweet. I turn him out with my gelding and the gelding bosses him around - he's such a wimp! :)
