This Morning as I was bringing an arm load of hay throught the gait Pluma decided to stick her head through the gate for the first bite. Of course in her excitement she quickly realized something had a hold of her and when she pulled back she pulled the gait of its hinges and the rodeo was on. she had that 8 foot metal gait swinging around her neck like a hoola hoop. She ran and bucked and ran some more. Soon she had the gate laying on her back where is slid down her neck and stayed there laying across her back. By this time everyone was worked up and all were running back and forth. of course this was the gait between Harly and his girls and the boys. So we got one giving a gate a ride, One defending his girls and 5 boys wanting to meet girls. Within minutes Pluma stopped running but with all the comotion was unable to get close to her. About the third time she stopped she took a second to think and then met me to get the gate off. She stood quitly while I twisted the gate off her back around to infront of her she then dropped her head out from between the bars. We then walked side by side to the hay that started this whole mess.
So I figure she should be despooked and rideable now.
Or heavens forbid, won't let no one on her.

What they can't get themselves into, huh?
Thank goodness there were no casualties!

Great story, Boyd. Smart girl, she figured it out, huh? Good for her and you. Glad nobody got hurt. And tell Harly I said "hey."

That's a great compliment to you Boyd, that she came to you to help her out of her predicament. A lot of trust there.
Glad she's ok!

Oh my gosh the trouble our kids get into! She certainly is a smart girl! And so pretty too!
Just a week ago Arwen spooked at something and took down a whole section of the fence including the gate. My horse sitter friend was astonished though that none of the girls went anywhere when the fence was taken out. Arwen never does. She just breaks leads, halters and fences and then stands there and looks at them. Her mom will deliberately lift a gate off the hinges if you don't have one up and one down. We watched her do it. And the other daughter, Arwen's baby sister, JUMPED out of her stall the other day. Nearly 4 feet high. SHEESH!
