I know I recently read an article about the current trends in horse sales nationwide. Does anyone have a link to it?

You can watch the online all-breed classified ad sites and see current trends. Horses are selling. For the $3.5K bargain prices (often need some work if to be ridden) are selling, and I see some higher priced "ready to ride" or "unique sought after pedigree" horses selling too $5K-$10K regularly. Higher than that may be by private treaty. The "have major or some issues" horses are often under $2K.... these can sell, but I often think the buyer just thinks they are getting a deal on a Paso fino and not realize what they may be in for. These horses may pop up again for sale within a year witha different seller.
You can see what areas of the country horses are selling and for what prices. I like to do my own research on market trends vs taking someone else's word on it.

Yeah, I do hear what you are saying, but I did read something somewhere saying that the national trend is for mature adults just getting back into horses at 40-60 years old wanting ready to ride experienced trail horses. Any breed, really, but I think the trend is towards gaited horses of color, too. Does any of this sound familiar or did I dream it? I do have some pretty wild dreams......!

Yeah the article started some major fights here, and really shouldn't have. It was actually very interesting and could have been adapted and discussed.

Good article. Makes sense. However I will need to read it again later when little kids aren't interupting me each paragraph
