I have been trying to locate a clinic for horse and rider that isn't too far from home. I am interested in a Larry Whitesell type of clinic to improve my riding and control and to broaden my horse's experiences. I can't travel too far primarily because ot time constraints with my work schedule. Does anyone know of any in the eastern Iowa/Illinois area?

You might look on Larry's website for dates and locations.
Liz Graves also gives a nice multi-breed gaited clinic.

Liz is supposed to by at the IL horse fair in Springfield IL. She will be taking 10horse./rider combos for the 2 days. March 1,2.

PS if you come for the horse fair give me a heads up ill be there with Durango Estaban Mir our pinto stallion and will most likely have some sale horses as well.
I was also thinking of doing the clinic just not sure who to take for it.

I did see that Liz was going to be there. My first concern is that there would be too many people watching. I am a beginner rider and I was hoping for a clinic that was fairly private, just the riders taking part. I will be embarrassed enough without the audience. :o
Also, the dates aren't very good according to my husband. March 1st is my birthday and I guess I am supposed to be with him and not my horse. I think it would be an excellent way to spend a birthday.;)
MAYBE what I need to avoid embarrassment is to find a very experienced Paso person to work with me and my gelding. Someone who can watch us and tell me if I need to do something different or if I need to teach my horse something. I have never had regular riding lessons, only Paso lessons one summer. I have never cantered in my life, have barely trotted. And that was not comfortable at all.:mecry:
