It was a small meeting, my first time attending, maybe 30 people.. I knew several there!

-The Galaghers- Jack, Sharon and Greg
-Max Allen and his wife
-Jim and Sue Bartell
- The Bursaw's (3 of us me included in that one..lol)
-Duane H. and Cheryl T.
-Mandi Koskow
and met some new paso friends too...

I also me Helen Frost! I was pleased to finally meet her after hearing about her training. She was very very nice! Too bad I am moving, I bet she could definatly help me w/getting storm some miles on... oh well..

It was nice chatting w/paso friends.

It was mentioned in the meetings that the smaller regions who dont send reps to the national shows might loose there region titles.... I hope they understand were so small and cant afford to send people, it would come from their own pocket to attend those meetings.. In MN and WI, NE, ND and SD we have only 98 members? And we are so spread out it is hard to all to show up and donate $$ or spend $$ on items..

Our Region is going to ask someone to go to the meetings on their own $$, kinda sad but oh well. I hope they dont take away regions, I hope we can stay and keep trying to be advocates for the breed...

Anyone else ina very small region?

Helen is a great woman and I have known her and followed her training for years. Our regions biggest mistake was years ago when the president at the time sent a letter to the pfhw and pfha for all to see about the fake tail thing. This upset many in our region and they didnt move but joined other regions or just quit ours. There is no longer a newsletter i hear its sent over email so i hope they all of email or there out of luck. Then they moved our show from mason city, Ia to the far east side of our region to cater to another region. There are several states in our region and they have the show on the very east edge of it thats a bunch of crap. Anyway we have never been able to recover and can no long afford a show in the middle of our region for us all to enjoy. So like i said before. Mid america is a good as dead.

THe newsletter thing was brought up as well today. Yeah slow goin on articles for it. Some werent even getting it by email so today it was suggested that who ever didnt have a email on file would get a hard copy now sent, who DID have an email listed w/MAFHPA would get an email asking which way they want the newsletter sent: Via mail or email... I didnt even know there was a news letter..lol

The website is also going to be redone very soon. The current one was maned by one person's comp lingo and they cant update it, so a new website is coming....

They passed out a new trail schedual all the rides are in MN, one in Wi. None anywhere else. kinda sad. I guess since most the members are in MN they think it is pointless to try to get a ride anywhere else... IF they did maybe those members would be more active...

Well, for my first (and last since i am moving), I am glad I attended. I got 2 paso t-shirts!! yyiipppeee lol

It is sad to me about the smaller regions, there was also talk about merging smaller regions together but since were so spread out as it is, no one would attend I bet...

anyway.....

Not about your region, but.....

After owning paso's for ten plus years, I finally joined my region and most likely never will again. I have received no confirmation that I joined and no newsletter. Guess I need to make sure they received my $ before I get too upset. In the past however I did not join because my e-mails asking questions went ignored as well.

I belong to a TWH trail club and have received a big welcome and almost monthly newsletters. They also have LOTS of events thru the months to enjoy. All within 3 hours of me. AND accept me even tho I don't own the breed. They will get my money from now on.

I almost think state paso clubs would be better. Usually things are so far away they are not worth attending. But, it would take a lot of work and incentive to get paso owners to join, at least here in NY. There are a lot of paso owners, just not involved in a club.

Just food for thought.
