No wonder you need a strong rider, with 20lbs of pressure and driving to the bit.

C'mon Terry, you know you want him :v: I'm just pointing out that there are some well bred horses around for low prices. No comment on their training....

You are right moonrize there are alot of nice well bred horses out there. I was just kidding around. I love capuchino and his offsprings. All of ours except one have him for their grandfather. Someone will have a nice horse.

I sent his info to a friend in Maryland that is looking for a Paso..she read that "strong" part and isn't interested in holding a horse back all day. She's looking for a trail horse...the kind you can relax on.

I am proudly owned by a Cappy son. He is an absolute love, and I can put anyone on him from my 6 year old grandson to my 76 year old mom. I'm not sure if that is breeding or training. I'm fairly new to Pasos, so I'm not quite sure how much is bloodline and how much is training. He has 6 National Championships in Bella Forma, Performance, and Pleasure. Even at 11 Tabasco is breathtakingly beautiful. The fact that he loves hugs and kisses is just a bonus!

(is that shelley leaning over my shoulder making me do that?)

I rode the most awesome Cappy son when we first shopped for paso finos. Unfortunately he was western trained and trained to trot under saddle. He was dead broke, neck reined, had a canter to die for and was ridden on a bunch of trail rides, really sweet and very sound but at the time I didn't think I had the skill to teach him to gait on cue instead of trot. I could get him to gait when I rode him but he thought he was supposed to trot when ridden. I still wish I had bought him. He was amazing. And he was a bargain of course since he trotted.

Yes you can get amazing bargains IF you know quality and are willing to do some additional training. All but one of our paso finos was a major bargain just by good luck and even our most expensive was appraised at 30k. You can be sure we didn't and couldn't pay that so I guess he was a bargain also!

I'd buy this guy in a minute if I had room for him. We have a mare who used to be so hard on the bit that I had to wrap the reins around the saddle horn to slow her down. It just took some bit shopping and once we found the right bit we never used it at all. She cued on seat and body motion for starting, stopping, turning, speeding up and slowing down.

Yep, western pleasure training can turn a gaiter into a trotter. But I've also seen some BORN trotters, out of Cap too. A beautiful Cap daughter in the auction a few years ago...well trained and bright red like Dad, but trotted up a storm in the auction ring. Didn't sell for much, for a well trained, well bred mare.

Nah Moon.... I think he looks little.
he's a good deal if he gaits and is handleable....if he doesn't..wellll.........

Whats the Capuchino stud fee right now....$3500plus?

Thats like getting a horse for pennies on the dollar, I mean by the time you foal him out...raise him, train him....he's dirt cheap to be sure....

I only paid $100 for my Capuchino son...and he gaits...and he's well trained...he does everything but load...yes, of course I'm rubbing it in! I'd take this one also if I didn't already have too many!
