Saw this on a rescue board.
Just got a call from Tom Voiss of Saddle Creek Ranch in Paso Robles. He
and his wife are not well, up there in years and want to give "All" of
their horses away for "Free" to good homes only. These are registered
purebred Peruvian Paso's and a once in a lifetime opportunity for
someone to own these gorgeous horses. They range in age from 3 to 17
years old, all trained and ready for lots of love. Tom can be reached
at 805-238-6834 or email at: sc.ranch@sbcglobal.net

Hi,
Paso Robles is close to me! Could you give me more info about where you heard the are "giving away" their horses? I need to find out more!!!
I had a horse when I was a kid that was half Peruvian, and she was a total blast to ride.
Thanks!!!

Uh, as far as I know, these horses are not free, the Voiss' are parting with them for reasonable prices due to their situation. I just discussed this with a friend today who owns some of their stock. They are very nice Peruvians from what I've heard.
I am also curious, which rescue board did this come across?

it's called "rescues only forum" or something like that. I'm new there.
Here's the latest update though.
I couldn't stand it, so I wrote to these people offering a home...........but Tom wrote right back and said another breeder had taken all of them, so even the old mares have a home for life.
MTA.....Tom is also on crutches because he fell in the mud!

Thanks, not sure who sent that around, but it is not accurate. I just spoke to my friend who was there today and purchased a couple of horses from them. I don't know about the old timers, but Tom is selling the horses, not giving them away and does have some still available. Not all of them are trained. I've seen photos of the stallion my friend is buying and he's very nice. Her gelding from same lines is extremely well gaited and a beauty, also. So if you are considering a Peruvian, this would be a good sale to check out.

Hmm, looks like I'd have to register to access the message, but thanks.
Here's the original message I had from my friend:
It is with sadness that I am writing this to some horse mail lists and friends.
.
My very dear friends Tom and Bev Voiss, of Saddle Creek Ranch in Paso Robles, are having some ongoing health issues and are going to be selling their 20 Peruvian horses. Some are young, some middle aged, some are elderly. There are 3 of their foundation mares that are 26, 27 and 28 years old that need loving retirement homes. They are *Incognito daughters. My beautiful Jalapeno (Reverendo x *California)is one of their horses. I have had 2 of their other strong sound horses (a "neice" and a "nephew" of Jalapeno.) I have bought one of their awesome stallions and will be picking him up at the end of the month. (Also a "nephew" of my Jalapeno - sired by his half brother Radiente de *California out of Delicia de *Incognito) If I could afford it, I would buy some others.
Anyway if anyone has any interest in their horses, or perhaps has a loving retirement place for the aged ones, please contact me, or Tom and Bev Voiss at 805-238-6834.
p.s.
I am getting no $ for this -
I merely love them both and all their horses.
Thanks,
Linda Garro
