why is it so slow?

any ideas, tips, suggestions.. My computer works fine for every website I go to but this one. My husband is a member on another bulletin/forum site & his works fine. But here, for me it takes on average 2 to 4 minutes for each page to load.. I am getting pretty frustrated.

It is very slow for me, too. Not quite as slow as you are talking about, but enough that I lose interest sometimes before the page comes up!

I thought it was my ISP. I'm glad to know I"m not the only one. It is frustrating. I actually go to other websites while it's loading and come back to this one it's so slow sometimes - but not all the time. Right now it's loading pretty fast.

Ever since the "change" to this new place, it's been slow. And I'm on a cable modem. Anywhere else flies right through but here. So it's not just you guys.

And on dialup, forget about it!

thats why I stopped coming here too..I thing it may have somethng to do with the google stuff..thats what is always loading at teh bottom of my page..plus I always leave with at least one 'spyware' cookie on my computer when I come here..sometimes two..hope it can be fixed.

I don't have any more trouble with this site than any other. Once in a while I have to click reload but not often.

Who is your ISP? Do you have satellite, cell phone, dial up or cable modem??

I can get to the BB fine. No problems loading.....BUT..the minute I click onto any forum or thread, it takes forever to load. Same thing when trying to reply, takes forever for the reply box to come up. Sending the reply once made goes quickly.

What she said. I almost never come here anymore. Not only is it painfully slow (I'm on dial-up) but every time I visit, a spyware folder plunks itself down on my desktop, and I have to get rid of it.

I have a mac, but an older model. I'm guessing that is why the file lands on my desktop. It's an exe file, which my mac can't open and doesn't seem to know what to do with.

Ditto to what Terry said. no problem at work with DSL but home (on dial up) is REALLY a lesson in patience.

My computer at work (DSL) handles the new format well except for having to wait for the "reply" screen to come up. It's very aggressively monitored, so I guess I'm not getting cookies. Am I? :confused:

And how perfectly AWFUL that we are losing people!!!! Please fix?
