I used to love it on AOL many many years ago. Where it gets weird is when someone else answers the ignored person and their post makes no sense whatsoever.:v:

I can certainly see using the Ignore feature for trolls, which we don't have here (luckily). I imagine it's the approval process that people have to go through to post. You can't really have a 'discussion' if one person closes their eyes and plugs their ears. I think I remember doing that as a 5-year-old child to not hear what was said.

Now, if your purpose is to lecture, rather then discuss, I guess it serves a good purpose in this type of forum.
