I got into work this AM and got this email. Candy is a friend of mine who also is a long haul trucker/horse transporter. Someone PLEASE contact her and use my name as a reference and see if you can help the horses she saw. Please contact Canday via email or phone directly - I cannot help, I'm in Upstate NY, which is where Candy's home base is. Thank you.

More and more of that happening. I am contacting my sources down there and will tell them to contact you. I know a lot of Ocala folks because I raised paso finos for 25 years.

Thank you for thinking of me and mostly for thinking of the horses.

Beth

Hey Beth,

Are there any rescues local to the Oczla FL area down here...I was out trailer riding and found 8 starved horses in the middle of nowhere, in a pasture starved...not even sure if there is water there or not...or should I just report to animal Control???

Beth, they need to contact the sheriff first. Nothing a rescue can do until then. And the sheriff will need an approximate location. Tell them not to give up though!

Everyone always says "surely someone is helping them" until the horses are dead.

Also, I have no idea where Ocala is, so here's all the horse rescues I could find in Florida.

Why would she even ASK if she should call animal control???
Dont worry Beth I understand you are just a messenger..not really asking YOU.. I am just asking the question I am sure is on many other minds..

I'm sure Leila will know just what to do, and that is her area.

I put a post on flahorse about this since there are a lot of people in Ocala on there. One lady actually knows Candy and was going to contact her and check things out.
